I dont know how specific you want but it say on wiki (which you have probably already seen) that they used omnidirectional microphones. I dont know if that is too broad to be of any help but anyways...

Yes, Amon Tobin is a great musician, and I absolutely love his masterpieces, but to say the electronic side of music is dull obviously means you do not look beyond the surface for better electronic music. The surface being Darude, DJ Sammy, DJ Tiesto etc

Mozart, to me, made music out of the beauty surrounding us, amon tobin seems to do the same with the inside.
