  • Beautiful! Reminds me of my childhood, we were proud to be Southern. The term Dixie was used for everything in my hometown. We were the Dynamo of Dixie, Chattanooga, Tennessee. My school mascot was the a Rebel, seemed appropriate since my school was at the foot of Missionary Ridge. We have lost so much of our past to political correctness.

  • Thank you for posting this. Great Playing!

  • Another beautiful interpretation of a traditional Civil War. Listen to Rachel's version of 'Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier' too. I love your feeling for this kind of music and am in awe of your ability to express emotion in your playing. Please make a CD.

  • One my favourite tunes, But at this tempo & on the piano, it is just out of this world .

  • This song is best when played at this tempo. I just love this song and I listen to it over and over again.

I recently watch the Ken Burn's Civil War Documentary and I found it really interesting.

I also love the movie Gettysburg. I find the history of the civil war to be very intersting.

Even though I'm a Northerner I have gained a great respect for Robert E. Lee and the great character that he had. He is by far the Favorite Gerneral to learn about from the civil war.

  • And to Missouri we

    Extend both heart and hand

    And welcome her a sister

    Of our Confederate band

    Tho surrounded by oppression

    No one dare deter

Her adding to our Bonnie Blue Flag

Her bright and twelfth star! "

  • Even though it is a festive tune at normal speed, Bonnie Blue Flag, when played at this speed and on the piano, sounds haunting. It reminds me of the desolation of our nation after the Civil War. I can see the ravaged country side of the south and millions grieving for their lost loved ones.

  • Very good video and nice song. I love it!!!

  • Very nice. You don't often hear this great song played in such a classical way.

  • Hey thanks that was great. I'm a re-enactor from Illinois and have attended Naper many time. The music and photos were matched nicely. Have not been to Gettysburg have been to Antietam. Awesome feeling. Soon after that visit I joined a Confederate Artilley unit. The history of the period needs to be told. I'm sure events like Naper go along way towards that goal. I have posted some images and video as well.

  • Go rach! Its Lee from fp btw,

To guy above me: You have a better mindset then most of my fellow reenactors, wish we had more like you round here. My thought is anyone knows what a battle is, but we are there to show folks the smaller sacrifices they made.
