Can't Buy Me Love: "I don't care too much for money...". Sometimes I think about these two songs when I hear one or the other. Money: 1963. Can't buy me love: 1964.
One of the Beatles heaviest early tracks. My favorite pre-1965 Beatles stuff is their straight ahead Rock & Roll covers - like this. Also, "I saw her Standing There" was in that vein.
@PicnicHikeMusic This song was one of Motown firsts hits. It was written and sang by Barett Strong. The Beatles actually met the Funk Brothers ( If you haven't heard about them yet, check them out they were the Motown Sound playing with Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and a lot more ) and they played like Mr Postman which was first sang by the Marvelettes. Still I really adoooooooooore the Beatles.
@happinessIsAWarmGun6 John was a complicated and flawed person nobody disputes that. He was actually not very greedy at all, if youll research youll see he was extremely charitable with his money. He hit his wife once and never abused yoko or his children. Where are you getting these bogus facts?
This song is suppose to satirical. The moment you get that through your shallow minds, the sooner this sound will blossom in your soul and make you sick of the greed in this courrpt dirt rag world.
Without the truth, there can be no real morality, justice, equality, success, freedom, love, security, peace, spirituality or even survival. To seek the truth, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says.
The Beatles failed a little when covering this version, because a year later they would release Can't Buy Me Love. Make your minds up boys, do you want money or not ?
My friends & I just started our own band and tbh its all down to the Beatles. Thinking you were just four average joes in Liverpool at one point gives you a silly belief you yourself can do it.
After all these years growin up and hearin my dad play the beatles I never thought I'd find myself rockin my head to a beatles track and enjoyin it...the power of music or should I say the message in the music.
After all these years growin up hearin my dad play the beatles I never thought I'd find myself rockin my head to a beatles track and enjoyin it...the power of music or should I say the message in the music.
By some twisted quirk of fate, this song ended up right next to "Can't Buy Me Love" on my Ipod. So right after I finish listening to "I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love ", they start singing "Money don't get everything it's true,
what it don't get I can't use". *SIgh* Such hypocrites.
Hehe, just kidding. I know this was a cover, and I've always liked "Money" better, anyway. =3
could you believe they were normal people in liverpool at one point....now labed as rock gods greatest rock sensation in mankind hell greatest music sensation!!!!!!!
The beatles? So is this what white folks used to do? Steal a black record and probably get paid way more too. Scratch "used to". They still do. Barrett Strong for life!
@soccerfreakette Pale imitation of great RnB is a time-honored recording industry tradition. In this case the Beatles had the balls to totally nail a great song that they clearly loved.
@soccerfreakette the beatles made pleanty of songs and they covered this song and liked it so you should be glad that there producer didnt make them do it if they didnt like barret strong. Btw ur comment is racist. to me
@terracottaguy Well this is just a cover version of a song by Barett Strong but Can't buy me love was 100% pure Beatles original. That song came after the time when they decided to stop doing covers and create more original songs. Only in the later years they became the most covered band of all time. *Yeah I'm a huge Beatles geek.*
oh man my vinyl only hinted at the genious-you should hear worn out vinyl stereo and mono...AND THE GUITAR TONE!!! DISTORTION? almost heavy metal...
