Very creative idea. From another EX-F1 user I can appreciate the quality you got from the higher FPS settings. Apparently your fresnel lens really amplified the light well.
One of the best videos shot with the Casio EX-F1 at youtube. Congrats!! Did you use some filter in post? The slow mo, specially at 600 and 1200fps are pretty blocky but your video looks great! Any tips? Camera settings? Did you use BS?
The key with the 2 higher speeds is lighting. Low light causes grain in the chip and this grain eats up memory so it tries to compress large areas and you get big blocks. You want to light with EXCESSIVE lighting.
The higher light intensity can also allow the use of faster shutter speeds, which results in a more crisp image/movement, but it really needs to be super bright! :-)
ok i know you are going to think im an idiot but i dont know alot about science and i did subscribe to you but what are those little things that are hitting the bottle?
Unfortunately, there are users on YT who would call Einstein and "idiot". lol
The bottle is so hot, when it is splashed with a little cold water, it shatters. I believe the same thing would happen if you froze a bottle and then dipped it in hot water.
Did the water cause the rupture? My little brother and I sprayed water on lit lightbulbs once and it sort of "popped" and caused a hole like a dime on the bulb.
In a rare feat of juvenile self control, we stopped doing it before our parents ever noticed and never did it again after that day. I figured they'd notice if we ran out of lightbulbs!
That is an amazing camera. I heated some glass in a fire and threw water on it once, when I was a kid. I had a scar on my neck for years to remind me to be careful. Now I make sure to stand behind something. Keep up the cool photography.

What are the white specks bombarding the 2nd bottle?
Nice video by the way.. Amazing how stuff looks when you slow it down. Has an artistic beauty to it.

The specks are water, just a squirt.
