  • the armadillo and the mastodon are from One Million BC?

  • Comment removed

  • man, no stop-motion dinosaurs?!

  • I'd like to watch this aweful movie one day.

  • looks like a good old movie

  • this movie actually kinda looks intense

  • Exceptionally bad film. i must see the original.

  • Looks like a true classic!

  • Lol I love how its like theyre going to explore strange new worlds, but the rocket kinda looks like a V2

  • "Tyrannosaurus Rex!" "IT'S AN IGUANA!"

If you want to see iguana fights and Joey the Lemur (he's actually a kinkajou, but he plays a lemur), I recommend this film.....the MST3k version. Not the original

  • @Tareltonlives Did you also notice that the rocket ship is a nazi V-2 rocket. If only they still made crap like this.

  • Weird. This "new" planet just looks like Earth...

  • The Mastadon was pretty awesome.

  • @Adom It's stock footage from One Million BC

  • @Tareltonlives that explains it.

  • Never heard of this one before. I'll have to check it out. I thought the lizards fighting was pretty cool.

  • I hated it when they used to use lizards in place of dinosaurs and have them fight each other so viciously. I agree, animal cruelty. I'd rather see poor animation than this cruel way to depict dinosaurs.

  • ANIMAL CRUELTY. POOR LIZARDS! lol

  • impressive special effects but made fun of by mst3k though!

  • i was brought here cuz the band "the riverdales" have a song about this movie.

  • Those poor Iguanas !!!

  • 1:09 is kinda funny!!!!! like what the hell is a giant Armodilllo gonna do!!!

  • WANDA CURTIS, who played the blonde scientist or whatever, was a sultry 1950s lounge singer. As far as I know, this was her only foray into acting.

  • Planets infested with Giant Potatoe bugs!

  • Killer Iguana is more like it. I remember watching this as a little kid on "Chiller" in the 60s.

Thanks for the info, Tbomb. I didnt know that Chiller had that long of a run.

  • asome

  • I like how the armadillo is just peacefully looking for insects to eat, and then all of a sudden those guys see it and start shooting at it!

  • 0:56 OMG a cardboard cut out

  • impressive special effects mastadon footage is from one million b.c. 1940 and great trailer!

  • This movie was shown on "Chiller Theater" with host 'Chilly' Billy Cardille a few times during it's run (Chiller Theater) on Channel 11 in Pittsburgh, Pa. You've got to love the cheesiness here. I grew up on it.

  • How long did 'Chiller Theater' last for?

  • Chiller Theater ran from September 14, 1963 until December 31, 1983. The show was a Saturday night Pittsburgh tradition. It even kept Saturday Night Live from it's time slot for 4 years.

  • I love the iguana! Did they not even try to put anything it in that has to do with actual dinosaurs?

  • those were Ye old days.

  • This is one of those magic moments in cinematic history: a film that wears its lower than low budget on its sleeve like a badge of honor and is ultimately so bad that, in a strange way, it's actually mildly amusing.

  • crulty to animals on 1:17

  • The mastadon footage was from ONE MILLION B.C. (1940).

  • agreed mattbl!

  • hehehehehehehe

  • Woohoo! so bad that its awesome!

  • Wait a minute! There's no Mastodont in the movie!

  • Can I have one with fries to go ?

  • lol @ the huge(small) armadillo.

  • I didn't know King Dinosaur was a giant lizard.

  • I want to see the MST3K verison

  • I have it and have been meaning to watch it.

  • @tobar1p

    Joey the Lemur! :)

  • Oh, Boy, those were Ye old days.

  • Oh, for the days when photographically enlarged lizards could be passed off as dinosaurs!

  • yeah, that's odd because by this time. America was introduced to Japanese filming technique. person in a monster costume like Godzilla and Gamera. This would have prevented using real animal to do the fighting. Also, America took a huge liking on Japanese tokusatsu technique.

  • No, because this movie was released in 1955, a year before the original Godzilla film was released in the U.S... Using lizards was cheaper than stop motion and men in suits, and even cheaper was stock footage.

  • Godzilla (Japanese version) came out in 1954 in Japan and a few month later in US in some theater. The one you saw was the American Adaptation made during the same year. The American could hasve use suitmation instead of using lizards. It would have been more cooler that way, and less animal cockfighting.

  • Yeah, the lizard fighting does get harsh...

  • That's why I like the suitmation in Japanese Toukatsu, no animal cockfighting. Just man in funny looking suit doing the fighting, and it was cheap also.

  • But proof that Americans hadn't really perfected the suitamation yet is in The Last Dinosaur from '77 I believe. Ever see that?

  • I believe that movie had help from the Japanese. I remember that movie was a Japanese-America production. I like that suitmation in the movie, better then using cockfighting reptile to make it look real.

  • Yeah, but the part where they throw a rock on the t-rex's head is absurdly funny... The puppets head caves in, haha

  • See the trailer for The Land Unknown ('57) for some good American suitamation.

  • yeah but last dinosaur movie was really cheesy if i remember!

  • Well thats what I'm saying, even in '77 dinosaur suits were corny..

  • that's true marioag20!

  • It was sad how they made lizards fight in these old movies....... Could've at least done costumes like on Unknown Island.....

  • Yeah, makes you wonder where the A.S.P.C.A. was.... I guess thats how they did thinks back then...
