  • Take a light shining on the land, Off the wall, Up and down, free everything, What you feel is all gone. You can make everything What you want with your head, You’re OK and be aware Everywhere with your mind. Two times, goodbye love, You’re sorting out for your room. Too many savage songs, Laugh with him today. Playing everything, You and your mind And flying paperhouse Way back on the laugh. You just can’t give them no more, You just can’t give them no more, You just can’t give them no more.

The eyes of the japanes songer looks the cam like saying "Ehy, you are a fucking retarded, this is not a music so great like the alternative music fashions say, but in the end we love this thing". I love a lot of CAN songs, but i think i'm a little mental retarded to love this genre.

  • @chopin65

i think they might be pf flyers? but i dont know :(

  • @chopin65 Yup. You're right I googled it. Thanks a bunch.

  • I like how they don't fall into the tunes; just lots of elements joined together and the effect is musical story. Without need of nice refrain of sth.

  • See my CAN review on my channel.

  • 12 people need to drink coffee or tea

  • Right. Now I fancy a brew.

  • 12 people need to take a dose and then they will understand this.

  • I review CAN discography nearly entirely for the first time. No parody, no bullshit. See my channel.

  • Just know, if you get it.. you get it.. And you should feel lucky that you can feel something so beautiful..

    Can.

  • Damo's playing Melbourme on the 10th of nov at FAD GALLERY!!! Can't wait!!!

  • ha ha...this is the voice of tom yorke...CAN...oh my god!

  • I'm pretty sure Zappa was on something; especially when he was in Mothers of Invention. I could be wrong though

  • @clockwerkkilla420

    Zappa didn't do drugs

  • @clockwerkkilla420

Pretty sure he was on Coffee and Nicotine 85% of his life, he dispised drugs and VERYrarely drank

  • @prgvidiot I think he had to try acid at least once. and well, if he didn't , im sure he was around other people who did... like captain beefheart, what ab out that character? btw, i am going to see zappa plays zappa in december in san diego, i am so excited, it will be to celebrate the 70th birthday of frank zappa , dweezil will be performing Apostrophe in it's entirety!!!!

  • @anthraxq

Beefheart was like Zappa's alter ego by which I mean he did do the drugs. Enjoy the ZPZ show.

  • @clockwerkkilla420

Pretty sure he was on Coffee and Nicotine 85% of his life, he despised drugs and VERY rarely drank

  • @clockwerkkilla420

He was on Nicotine and Caffeine probably 85 % of his life. He despised "drugs" and very rarely drank alcohol.

  • Abgesehen von der grandiosen, zeitlosen Musik- ein gemaltes Gesicht!!

  • Damo Suzuki played at my local pub in England... Oh Yeah!

  • やっぱりいい!いいですよ!うーん!

  • Glad to find i Can get vidoesindies Fewcherr Daze.

  • Woahhhhhhh. He is on some serious drugs in this. look at his eyes theyre fucking saucered out to the maxxxx (telltale sign for someone who is tripping balls)

  • @titass420

Wait, you're telling me a 70's experimental rock band were on drugs? No fucking way dude!

    Someone call the DEA!

  • @SpeshelEdTed

sorry to destroy your illusions, but rock musicians and their audience, all were smoking grass at that time, some were on acid every day, every band, every concert. I was there, I was 20, i lived right in the middle of that time.

  • @RedKhandro Not really. Frank Zappa for one never used drugs. And if we're talking about supposed drugged out super creative musicians, Sun Ra didn't either.

  • @RedKhandro

Apparently some people can't detect internet sarcasm, even at it's most obvious :P

  • I am Damo Suzuki!

  • This is my favorite title for a song ever.

  • If there's any band that should be called 'the greatest band ever', it's Can. That, or Sonic Youth,

  • OMG, can't give enough thanks to the person who posted this!

  • top 5 kraut rock band of all time, no questions, no exceptions

  • uh top kraut rock bands?? i was gonna say top bands period. ihmo the best band for the first half of the 1970.

  • @fu55b4ll yeah, except for that whole "subjectivity" thing.

  • @kwakky

    ???

  • @fu55b4ll It's not like that's a very long list.

  • @devtrev haha true but those who got it right were insane!

  • @fu55b4ll Could You, please give me the names of the remaining four?

  • @mediavault7 damo lives on

  • @mediavault7

If I may I could give you a couple out of my top 5. Neu! would definitely be in (Hallogallo, Negativland) and Faust (Why don't you eat carrots) and Kraftwerk (Spiegelsaal)

  • Why he gotta go & do that?

  • @fatchants, or they merged together creating 'Willow Of Pins'...

surely their blossoms are still alive

  • Damo is a great singer! a stroke of luck for CAN!

  • ..tho to be fair, the album version of this is much more driving, Jaki really peaks it.. listen to this on _Tago Mago_, it's one of their best recordings, along with 'Sing Swan Song' on _Ege Bamyasi_

Profoundly psychedelic, in the truest meaning of that word.. fractal composition

  • This is MUSIC. People forget what that word means, and how it means something that breathes living human energy and digs deeper and deeper in. God bless these guys, wish I knew about them when I was a teenager doing acid to '70s Floyd.

    It has the same, soul..

  • @fatchants lol "doing acid to 70s Floyd"

  • not sure what the 'lol' is for but I can assure you the members of Can were doing acid and listening to late 60s-'70s Floyd quite intently

  • uhm, no? They were making music at the same time periods. Can never listened to a pink floyd song.

  • unless you somehow know this for a fact, it's an extremely silly assumption to make, that German hippies doing acid, writing a song titled "mushroom", and recording music as ..late as 1968 didn't know about Pink Floyd.. think about what you're saying man..

  • yeah, maybe they knew about them but they would have made the same great music without floyd's existence.

  • that I completely agree with.. or at least as much as anyone could have made the same music without everything they listened to before it, you know..

I totally love Can, at least up until about 1974

I dunno why everything goes kinda downhill or hollows out or gets plasticene somewhere in the '70s but I have a theory that it has to do with a shift in drug use, specifically the advent of crack/base cocaine making it possible for young people to get addicted to hard drugs really easily..serious

  • @fatchants

Tastes differ, but come ON ,Can was good to the end.

    "Babaluma"for sure is their highpoint.

"Landed"in retrospect ain't bad at all.

Oh whell...that's just my tiny opinion.

And considering drugs...XTC wasn't that good for music either.

I fear the west is ready for another 2nd WW like disasater.

Maybe people will appreciate the smaller things in life again.

  • @PAULLONDEN smaller as in ..micrograms of some ..chemical discovered the year Jaki Liebzeit was born? :)

Anyway no man, I strongly disagree, as do the members of Can, themselves, I'm sure.. _Babaluma_ was the discourse away from organic funk music and toward more electronic, quantized-sounding 'rave' style music, and _Tagomago_ was surely their highpoint

after _Future Days_ they went into something else, what they were about was basically over. Similar to Pink Floyd doing _The Wall_

  • @PAULLONDEN xtc wasn't good for music? are you crazy dude. all drugs are good for music. as for ww2, it's still going on isn't it?

  • coool..

    live is the yhing

  • poop. can is cool.

  • "The lirycs make no sense" => for the band is not here to give a message, but a feeling. The whole song is just a feeling generator. That's why this song works for people that doesn't understand english at all.

  • "I feel pretty in the chimney."

Wow ! this is something else.

    Great stuff I love it!!

  • Can are Brilliant !

    I love this stuff.

  • wow. this is great. truly great. 5 stars

  • after listening to several can songs,I'm starting to get the feeling they improvised their lyrics.sometimes they don't make any sense at all...

  • No shit. On Oh Yeah by Can the singer sings Japanese aswell. Backwards.

  • @Snitsie He also sang Japanese not backward

  • @iopih Lots of rock music lyrics are like that, but in my opinion Can seriously flows too well.

  • awesome

  • did you even listen to it? its genius.

  • genius band

  • I like this better than the version on the record.

  • The END.

  • the beginning sounds like some jim morrison song..anyone know which one i'm talking about??

  • The end?

  • This is the end, my only friend, the end. :)

  • huch - coloured my night/morning :-))))

  • Subtitutes for coffee and tea are: Toffees, and Keys.

  • thats pretty good!

  • So.. Pink Floyd's "Pillow Of Winds" might be substituted for with "Window Of Pills?

    :)

  • yep =D

  • this is like miles davis's in a silent way if it worked for me

  • trascendental.... CAN rules and heals

  • I love the scene from 00:01 to 4:37

  • Those last ten seconds are the best.

  • absolut heiß!

  • wow ! i missed that song

  • sex pur! ein wahnsinns mann....

  • genial!

  • Que cosa genial? Que se pretege los oidos del mismo.

  • oh brother...its great to be back....

  • 嫌悪感

  • Damo suzuki, whataguy

  • Podrias ponerte a apreciar la totalidad del cuerpo sonoro... podrias usar tu imaginacion... podrias romper la estructura y CREAR...

Mientras pienses como pensas, quedate en el molde... ¬¬

  • I dont like the vocal melody... although back when it would have sounded fresher I guess

  • ah..so sleepy and peaceful, though the vocals give it a surreal undertone, like you're floating in the sea under a starless sky.

  • A space trip !!!!

  • one of the best albums of all time, in the top 10

  • i totally agree

  • Gorgeous. Damo looks like he's nodding out in opiate bliss, which is what this music feels like.
