I think that Tony Martin is one of the most underrated vocalists of metal of all time. Just listen to that guy. What he can do with his voice is great. He can combine different kinds of styles in his singing and that is what is nice and respectable. Sometimes he sounds like Dio, sometimes Jon Bon Jovi, sometimes like Hansi Kürch and sometimes even like Joey Tempest, who, by the way, is also very underrated singer. There is almost no-one who would be as good hardrock singer as Tempest =D.
This is really cool Sabbath. Can't help but think that there is Dio influence in the vocals, but this is definetely kick ass Music. Iron man, eat your ass out...this is solid sabbath Metal.
@fb4jc: Seems like someone f**ked my account. Tony M. is "up there" with Dio and Gillan. Yes, this IS solid Black Sabbath metal, but very different from Ozzy era.
2:47 is the best part of the song: Tony Martin's melisma overtop of the bass line that sounds a lot like the erie intro from Tightrope by Electric Light Orchestra
Wow, thanks so much for posting this! I agree w/ everyone here, Tony Martin is a fantastic vocalist and he fit right in. When I bought this in 1994 I was a little skeptical. But then this song kicked in and I knew it would rock. For me, the real gem was "Evil Eye." With that track the album was worth every penny! God damn did that song ever rock.
i think the albums with tony martin are so fucking underrated. his voice is awesome and it works perfectly together with these kind of riffs of tony iommi.
awesome song.. one of all time best Sabbath songs. Tony Martin is such an underrated singer.. Really hope that now that sadly Mr Dio passed away that the Sabs at least wont get back with Ozzy.. something new (iommi+hughes cd nr2) would be great from mr Iommi
True Sabbath fans know this. All the members of Sabbath did an excellent job on this album. Noone is making music like this now, just listen to this album today and you can see how talentless today's groups are. Keep it True!
I'd say that this album, Headless Cross and TYR are my favorite one's with Tony Martin.

@rautaneitofani88 Hell yes, brother. It's a crime that Martin and his work with Sabbath are so overlooked and underrated.

This is the only good song on this album. The others are really weak, in my opinion.

Tony didn't get the cred he deserved. Matched Iommi's riffs perfectly. Maybe Iommi should take Tony on tour ?

@steele1812 Tony's voice is fucked up :(
fb4cj 9 months ago
@fb4cj Look up Giuntini Project - Anno Mundi. That's Tony covering an 80's Sabbath song in 2006, & he sounds exactly the same.
His voice is most definitely NOT fucked up. He's in much better shape vocally than Ozzy lately.

@campoobutt well better than ozzy its true but what I mean is that his voice is not the same as before....

This might be one of my favourite Sabbath songs. Martin is a great singer in his own right, same as Dio or Ozzy.
