the new one sucks. You can see the scanlines on PSP 3000 compared to 2000. The screenl looks worse than the 2000.

The scanlines help to give a briter screen and give it a crisp color depth. Also, and I test both 2000 and 3000, playing games on a 2000 gives me ghosting and a bit blury images when fast action accurs. On the 3000 I have no ghosting do to the fact that 2000 LCD runs on 60ms compared to the 3000's 12ms response on the screen, big difference.

For a comparison like this you have to keep both screens at once in view, not swivel around from one to one!!! Or at least switch off the automatic brightness adaptation of your camera — moving from the light coloured shell of the PSP-2000 over to the black one of the PSP-3000 causes the whole picture to change.

There isn't a difference in brightness but in the color gamut of the screens. The gamut on the 3000 is much much more vivid than on the PSP 2000, resulting in a sharper picture with more color. the 1000/2000 PSPs look washed out compared to the 3000.

With respect, the 1000 series is quite terrible for 2 simple reasons, the love handles are actually uncomfortable even when we think they add comfort, and its heavy which strains your hands, try a PSP lite and you will find it much much more comfy.

Dude, you can NOT do a (fair) comparison like that when you DON'T LOCK THE EXPOSURE SETTING on your camera, I can SEE the camera AUTOMATICALLY adjusting for the difference in brightness of the screen AND the increased *reflected light* from the much brighter white body of the 3000. This isn't a knee jerk defense from a sony fanboy (I'm far from it) but as someone who actually knows how to use a bloody camera properly. *rolls eyes*

The PSP 3000 isn't actually supposed to have a brighter screen. It will however have better colours due to the increased contrast ratio.
