  • i absouloutley love this song i always listen to this on the EFY 2000 track its so pretty:)i wish i had mad piano skillz!!!

  • I MYT be abal to start paino lessons with my brother heston

  • just started learning this song and it's coming along pretty well! :) i love watching other people play it too tho haha you did a good job!

  • HI! Congratulations! Very very nice sound!!

Do you have the sheet music? Do you know how can I get it?

  • even know you left out some keys still sounds amazing

  • You should play the notes that you left out, it adds to the song. This is great though! Good job

  • Very good! I love this song! :)

  • amazing mate, what grade do u think is required ti okay that do u think?

  • Did anyone else find the upper right hand corner distracting in a good way :D i LOVE this song. I am going to learn it

  • @lilmisshotty101 BADLY!..

  • do you have the sheet music???

  • How hard do you think this song is to learn? On a scale from 1-10.. :) Thanks

  • @GetInMyGuardz

All depends on you. How long are you playing?

  • @alaintjje About 2 years, however self taught and mainly a chord-player

  • @GetInMyGuardz

Then i'll give it a 8,5. Not because it's really hard to play. But It takes a lot of practice before you can play everything right at this speed. But with the time you'll play it, just go for it.

  • It's a good thing that he messed up in the beginning and never stop his beat. NOW THAT'S HOW I CALL A PROFESSIONAL PLAYER...

    ^_^

  • I think its nice but Jon Schmidt is never beat.=(

  • Yeah, You left a few runs out with the left hand in a few parts. :p

  • @Wurbyfu haha...yeah thanks guys...i didn't know.

  • Lol, is it sped up? it's good, bu you left out some of the left hand. :)

  • @Wurbyfu nope! haha but maybe i was playing too fast? i like your version btw, it's slower but very clean and thorough. good work! =]

  • very well played

    just a little tip:

you should concentrate on the accents as being one of the most importing things in jon schmidt's compositions

    for example:

the beats 3, 4 and 1 in the intro are a "downwards movement", that should be heard despite the general upwards movement

you only stress beat 3 and 1most of the time, thus the downwards movement is lost

  • OMG i love this song and ur PIANO!!!

where did u get that ?! i want to try that piano

    really looks awesome!

    and GOOD JOB

  • mediocre hand position, i will guarantee that as soon as you fix your collapsed fingers and some other things it will be perfect((:

  • @BrykenR93 hey thanks for the comment. I would like to ask you what you mean by "collapsed" fingers? haha. I haven't really been taught piano professionally. Just by my own. So I'm very behind on technique and theory, but anyway I am interested in your statement! Please let me know thanks ! =]

  • @BJamesThompson So what i mean by that is when you press the keys on the piano your fingertips should be pressing on the piano, and what i mean by that is the very top part of your finger, so basically the first joint on your finger should be perpendicular to the piano keys... make sense?

  • @BrykenR93 yes that makes perfect sense! Thank you, I have never had anybody notice that before. I will now consider this new point while practicing to improve technique and performance. Thanks again =]

  • mediocre finger position dude!!! fix that and it will be perfect((:

  • Comment removed

  • Very good job, but in my opinion it's a bit monotone.

  • Its really AWESOME dude i like to play this music dude but i don't have a piece of this music i really really like it can you send me a piece of this song dude ?

in my email i'm LDS dude i love to play piano...can you send me a piece of this song in this email gilbert_032@yahoo.com please bro.Thank you

  • this song is so fast, I can play like the first half, and after I'm done my hands are tired as hell lol

  • aside from early on with the quick miss at the start, very well done. Really solid in keeping tempo.

  • thats really cooly!!!

can you also learn another piece called "The Fishing Stream"?

its also by Jon Schmidt if you didn't know that.

i luv that song and i want someone to play it

    =)

  • @Babystarlight17 I have the sheet music to that song! haha. Maybe I'll learn it one day. I think I remembered it sounded really pretty =] i'll let you know if I learn it and I'll post it! =D thanks for your comment.

  • @BJamesThompson AWESOME!!!! Thanks!!!^^ ok i'll keep an eye on my comments haha^^

  • ok! I will do that! Thank you for ur advice. XD

and I will never give up and one day I will play this music like u r and post it on you tube :D

  • Great video!!!!

I have been practicing for a week now... but Im still bad at it..

How long did you take in order to play like that?!! I hope I play at the same speed that you did someday :P

Thank you for the video!! (sorry for the english mistakes... I suck at english)

  • @cu8368 hello! it's not too difficult to get this song down. It took me about a month! A lot of it is very repetitive so maybe I would suggest learning the right hand first, then add the left hand when you are ready! you will be playing well before you know it =] just don't give up!

  • This is SO amazing! I don't think you sped it up at all; I just think you play so wonderfully that it seams unreal for it to be that great.

  • I may be one of the only people in the world who do not think you sped up this video. I just think you did an amazing job, and just because I am not capable of playing what you did doesn't mean you sped it up. Very nice work.

  • For all you guys who think this is sped up its not. ive learned this piece myself and i would play it faster just for kicks and its not impossible

  • Take the shit 'You speed up the video' as a compliment, they can't play it that fast! This is the way it's supposed to play, very good!

  • Why does everyone say that he sped this up? That is ridiculous. It's called practice. over. and over. and over. and over. (you get my drift). Great job. I'm working on it, and I want to get faster but it is hard. repetitiveness is the key though. I'll get it eventually!

  • can I ask you what is your skill level? and how many years did you study before playing this one..thank you very much..sorry for my english I hope you understood :)

  • He didn't speed it up =\ Good job, by the way!

  • Great Jorrrb, Homestar! I'm gonna be a jerk, though, and point out that you simplified/forgot a part at 2:19. :) I only noticed because I'm currently learning this song. Have you tried any of his other songs since you played this?

  • Wow. I love your piano! I didn't think that this was sped up, but who knows.... I played this at my last piano recital (I was seriously nervous, three years of piano does not seem to be enough after I listened to your version and the actual one, too fast!!) and I loved playing it! Wonderful job!!

  • I really want to learn this song! I've played piano for around 8 years and really want to learn this song. :) Where could I get it for free? Or would I have to pay for it?

  • ok...you definitely sped this up...I have played the piano for 9 years and can say for a fact if you played it that fast with that hand position then there is no way that you would now make a mistake...It just doesn't work like that....but to get to the point...even though it was sped up you did a FANTASTIC job on this piece and I can't wait to see what else you upload!

  • @QueenArya15 haha ok, so everyone says i sped it up, does that mean the song sounds too fast? or the video doesn't match the audio? cuz on my comp it matches and that's how fast i really play it lol but anyway, thanks for the kind comment =] i'm planning on posting more piano videos when i can get my hands on a camera lol

  • @BJamesThompson the song's tempo sounds great but your hand position is too awkward to play it at the speed the way it is in the video....the jumps are too jerky to be natural...etc...I believe you can play it that fast, you just didn't in this video. Still, as I said earlier...great performance of a great song!

  • @BJamesThompson No the audio is fine but the video is pretty fast and why did you say oops? :P Nicely played this piece is very hard to play.

  • @QueenArya15 You've been playing for nine years? Jon has been playing for like 3203523 years so he's 100 times faste, better than you are. Thanks bud :)

  • so I'm trying to learn this song and have a question. How good are you at piano? I ask because this is probably way above my level, and am thus interested in how long it took you verses how long it will take me. Lol

  • @akbowman94 @akbowman94 haha well for one, never give up on this great piece! It took me about a month to get it down, but i was not every experienced at the time. It is repetitive and the left hand isn't very complicated, so the best way to learn this piece is practice right hand only first til you are comfortable with it, then put in the left hand. and pay attention to the dynamics from the start. It will end up sounding better =] and start slow! good luck! =D

  • awesomeness :)

  • I just finished this piece, now i'm working on the speed.. which obviously after watching this i need, and i'm also learning the song of the ocean! you should post it if you've done it! Keep workin hard!!!

  • im sure he didnt speed up the video. a girl in my piano class thats only been playing for a year played this song for our recital at this speed and didnt mess it up at all

  • Hahahaha sucker you sped up the video!

  • @littlemisterpig nope. sorry. actually no. you lose. k bye.

  • Hey guys, I'm big fan of Jon schmidt.

I opened my channel few days ago! and

Please check them ouT! there's many good songs that you would like!

  • This is one of my favorite Jon Schmidt songs.

  • amazing job!!!!

  • who cares if the vid is sped up. He can still play it :D

  • nice song

but you speeded it up with a programm

you can see itat 2:35 it's just unnormal how fast your fingers are

it's even unnormal that you don't made a mistake at this speed

In my opinion it's sad because it sounds a lit slower nice too.

  • @RDrizzleFoShizzle hmm. that's weird. People have said that before about this video, but the youtube version matched up identically with the original footage I have. Maybe it just looks that way.

  • @RDrizzleFoShizzle well... i know him! he is my brother, so one im offended and 2 i know he can't really do it that fast but he speed it up to not make it too long! so, ha.

  • @RDrizzleFoShizzle well... first of all... THATS MY BROTHER... so im a little offended. i hear him play the piano everyday... he's so good. and 2nd of all he speed it up so its not too long. so HA.

  • Vraiment magnifique !! Il n'y a rien a dire !! J'adore ces musiques, elles sont superbe s !! <3.

  • very nice song and interpretation. How can i get the music sheet? Thank you (From Silvio of Brazil).

  • amazing, i am so jealous

  • This is an amazing composition. My nephew started playing it for me but I was only able to film a short clip of it. Beautiful job on a beautiful song

  • beautiful.

  • HOLY CRAP i tried this song a million times and i can't play it that fast at all.... ur good.

  • i must agree jon schmidt is the most amazing piano player in the world.

  • i love this song, but i have such a hard time playing it (i have annoying stubby fingers), you play it beautifully!

  • Simply awesome!

  • Awesome! I wish I could play like this but my hands can only do an octave, and the whole song has so many passages that require a smooth progress through the octave sections. Practicing so hard right now! Nice Job.

  • I am truly inspired by this piece to press on with piano. I get so frustrated that I just want to drop everrything. Thank you, Jon. People who play like you inspire me.

  • Very beautiful job.

  • Very pretty. Thanks :) Pretty piano by the way.

  • I was done becoming a better pianist after chopin and mozart, I thought I didn't need to get any better. "All of me" put me back to studying, and I'm getting better every day. Thanks a lot!

  • The composer of this piece would be proud to know pianist as good as yourself take time to play there music. Lovely video !!!!!!

  • wow! i always thought that was a duet! i stand corrected! amazing, i loved it! u were very fluent and went the right speed! cant tell u that u could have been better, cuz there is no better for how u played it! : D

  • this is sooo amazing!!! I can play Jon Schmidt's music but not very well. His music is so much fun to play becuase it sounds happy.

  • it is very good, tell me if i am wrong, but i think that the video is here little bid faster than it really is... am i right? Because when you look at that playing fingers, it seems to me like the video is here played faster than it was made...

  • a lot of times when you upload videos to YouTube, the audio and the video don't sync up like they should :-)

  • tell what you want, but i think it's true and not the original fastness - so just lame...

  • i'm working on this one. and all of me. and they are so hard but i'm learning them. and i'm excited. you are just way too good. it looks effortless.

  • AMAZING! This is my favorite piano piece ever!!! I wish I could play that! Great Job :) :) :) you're awesome.

  • Wow, you make it look easy... Great job!

  • WOW! Great job :) Love the song....think I'll learn it.

  • OK i have decided that you need to move in next door to me and teach me piano. sound good? ;)

    That was amazing!

  • I can't believe it... I've been looking everywhere for the name of this song, and then I find it on here? and with an amazing player to boot! great job by the way. I am trying to learn this and the only complicated song I know on piano is Trollhammaren. haha so I don't know if I'm ready but if you think so then I would like to know. :)

  • I always hate the part where you're supposed to hit C and D with your thumb. You spend so much time training your fingers not to hit two keys at the same time. But I guess constantly retraining is part of being a good pianist.

Great job by the way. Very few mistakes. Jon Schmidt would be proud.

  • it kinda sounds like an irish jig :p I have to say, not a fan of this piece, but nice playing :]

  • I'm so jealous! I've been trying to learn this song and I get the hang of it for the most part but it's not even near as smooth as yours! Congrats and you did an amazing job!

  • NICE, All of me has to be his best song though.

  • omg where did you learn the song? plz tell

  • haha where did i learn the song?

do you mean where did i get it?

  • your amazing at the piano I wish u could teach me... the only song I can play is Camp Town Races... and i mess up usually lol

  • 2 words... blown away!!!!!!

  • Hi, this is great! So I just bought this and I was wondering:

    1. How long did you take to learn this?

    2. Do you know what tempo you were playing it at?

    Thanks! Great video!

  • haha awesome =]

    1. About 8 weeks to get it completely down

    2. I don't know what tempo i was playing. I'm guessing it was around 120, because i can count 2 beats per second. but don't practice it at that speed. just practice at your own speed so you get each note clearly. =]

    good luck!

  • can you get me the sheets?

  • awesome!!! Just speechless by listening to your performance!!! X__x I was blown up by the speed of your fingers! I hope seing other videos like this from you! 100000/5

  • well done

  • Awesome! But what is the "oops" about at 0:12 ? lol

  • He repeated a measure. it sounded the same as the previous four, but it was an extra. I wouldn't have known unless I had the sheet music-it sounded great! Except for the "oops." :)

  • haha yep. you're right. i guess i was just nervous lol wasn't paying attention until like the second page =]

    and thanks!

  • ahh haha ha

    nice simplifying there... :P

  • It's so cool how this sounds exactly the same to what Jon did.

  • wow.

  • yeah i just picked up piano a few months agos n now on the the last two pages. man every page is like a new roadblock. but im surprised ive come this far. i guess im just really motivated. women seem to really like this song :) noticed that you played some parts different from the sheet music but its all cool man good job. gonna learn all of me next :)

  • good for you! that's passion right there. i hope you can put a video up when you've mastered them! =]

  • thanks man defiently will:)

  • Right on! Ya i'm learning this song, i've got it pretty fast and the right keys/dynamics, but it just doesnt sound like this.. any tips?

  • the only thing i would suggest is to have someone with a trained ear and experience listen to you play it, this way you can get tips you never could even think of. i can thank my piano teacher for that. she's a genius =]

    haha good luck!

  • thanks a bunch

  • Hey BJ, so i recorded myself and listened back to me playing it.. it sounds just like yours! haha that was my problem

  • oh cool! so are you going to upload a video to youtube? =]

  • i dont know how to lol

  • I got to see John Schmidt live a while back. he's amazing!

  • Dude you've got talent and u r otally rite jon schmidt is the beat pianist in the world!!! U could be a great star man... eep up the good work ... i cant wait for another one of your videos!!!

  • Wow, you did an amazing job on this! I just bought the music yesterday, and can't believe how fast it is! You have a lot of talent =)

  • I LOVE PLAYING PIANOOOOO, I haven't been playing too long but I wish I could upload vids of me playing.

  • How long have you been taking lessons? I take them too and its my 6th year now.

Also, how long did it take you to play this song?

  • when i made this video, i had been taking lessons for about a year, but have been playing for a little over 2. This song took me about a couple weeks to learn but a month to get it how i like it =]

so you've been playing for a while, are you going to try and learn this song as well? i would recommend it. it's great! and fairly simple to learn.

  • Are you serious!! It only took you a few weeks! It looks very difficult to play!

  • haha yeah. but hey, it's only cuz i put a lot of concentration and effort into most of my practicing, so really if you're a piano player i'm sure you can do it fine. =]

if you would like i could send you the sheet music so you can give it a try. don't be overwhelmed. it's actually kind of repetative. good luck if you try it =]

  • Comment removed

  • it actually doesn't look hard when you break it down. i play the piano too :] very nice

  • Excellent work -- very clear and smooth! This took talent and dedication (I play piano -- I would know) . Keep up the great work!

  • Bravo really enjoyed the music

  • wow you are good u remind me of my brother he used to play this song just like you did and then after he would show me how to play it

  • that was awesome! good job!:)

  • Thats amazing.

Its sounds almost exactly like the original.

  • i just can't get over the incredible tone quality. I've never heard this song before. To be honest i don't care what its "Supposed" to sound like >.> every pianist will play with his own style. I really liked this video.

  • Nicely done! I'm learning this right now, and I'm nowhere near playing it full speed yet, but it's still loads of fun to play. =D

  • Nicely done! I have seen Jon Schmidt play this song several times and nobody can play it as good as him but you are very close!

  • omg haha the way your hands move kind of reminds me of those moving hands in that cartoon Adam's family or something. HAHAHA sorry sorry. you're awesome, btw. :)

  • OMG IT DOES.

But yes this is beautiful. and amazing. I want to play piano so bad.

  • take piano lessons! it's so worth it i promise. if you don't have a piano there are really cheap ones on craigs list =]

  • man I wish I could play it that fast

  • i really love this song and it sounds so nice when you play it 5/5

  • this song suks compared to ''All of Me'' by Jon schmidt

  • it sounds better if u say "I prefer 'All of Me' instead of 'Waterfall'"

    instead of saying it sucks.

    express your opinions respectfully.

  • ha thank you, i agree.

it scared me to read that comment.

'All of Me' is a great song anyway. =]

  • amazing you play really good, love this song, it seems you enjoyed playing it XD, nice, very nice job.

  • Oh man. I'm learning this for a piano recital, and I thought I was playing it fast. It turns out I'm way slow. I'm screwed. :(

  • I Love this song, it is probably my favorite of Jon Schmidt's

  • i'm learning that song right now and can play it pretty well but just need to get it faster. great job!

  • Very nicely done!

im actually learning this piece right now and i have the first 5 pages done and i started it a week ago! Your hands look a little tense, naybe its because the camera was on you:=] but yes, you did a very very nice job! how long have you been playing piano? ive been playing for about 7 years. i know some amazing pieces. anyway, very nice job, i give you props!

  • Very nice job. There's one thing I think you need to work on though. Idk if it was just my speakers, but try sinking in to the keys more. You'll get way better tone quality. Also, you look like you're tense. Loosen up a little. Don't be afraid to mess up, own the piece. Just my thoughts. Nice job.

  • Thank you, I appreciate the advice. =] I have been told by other people that i don't press into the keys deep enough, which restricts the tone quality. I have tried, but maybe I don't understand b/c doing so I just play louder, and it is too loud. I also have trouble with relaxing my hands and arms. Maybe I just need to practice technique? haha or maybe i was just nervous from the camera...anyway. Thanks again for your kind comment. I'm interested in your advice and input. =]

  • i am learning to play this song!!!!! well getting ready to...i cant wait! i love this song soooo much...in a non-nerd piano type way...good job

  • Beautiful! Ummm yeah could I get the sheet music too please! Thank you!

  • I have to agree, I love Jon Schmidt. Great job. Could you also send me the sheet music if poss? Thanx

  • nice job, but at about 2:16 to about 2:20 doesn't the left and go from "cc" to "dd" to d#d#"? It didn't look like you did that. I have played this song and thats what the sheet music said, jsut wondereing...

  • haha thanks. and you are right. i just finished learning the piece, but for some reason i couldn't play that part with my left hand. when the time came, i just couldn't move that fast. but now i can do it. ahha did you have trouble with that part too?

  • Well, The only problem that i am having with this song is the tempo, my hands cant move in a blurry motion if you know what i mean. But yea I cant get the speed right and when you get into the main rythym it sounds different when i play it so i need more work but great job!

  • hmm.. It's kind of hard to explain. If I could, i would show you, but lemme see...

It looks as if you are are pulling away, which makes it sound staccato. When practicing, and you're playing with the pedal down, play as legato as you can. Exaggerate it a lot so you can get used to playing that way.

  • The sheet music is available on Jon Schmidt's website for 99 cents.

  • 99cents!!!

  • Jon Schmidt is awesome! i love him! i'd love to play all his pieces - every single one of him. I'm not good enough yet, i'm only 13 :(

  • hey any chance of sending me this sheet music...great song :) !!

  • this is so amazing i got to see jon schmidt perform he is so amazing!

  • nice i am learning this song right know, but i cant seem to keep the speed the same the whole way around. nice job 5/5
