You want to shoot people? How old are you? 3? War is hell, your not going to go downrange and become rambo. Its not as easy to shoot people. Medics do go in the field with the infantry men and do shoot and fight with them, but your priorty as a MEDIC is too save lives of and take care of your own wounded. So if your attitude is "i wanna shoot people" stay the hell out of the military and in the hospital were you work because your not focused on the medic's mission.

and for your info, the Corpsman are the U.S. Navy medics attached to U.S. Marine units in Iraq and Afgahnistan. Every other branch calls their doctors medics, we call them corpsman. In two years i gain commission of 2nd Lt in the Marines by way of OCS. If i'm on the ground with the 0300's and with mens lives depnding on my decision i want a medic in my hole focused on saving lives rather than taking them(thats our job). that means that I wouldn't want you on my side.

you cannot directly serve in combat as a infantry medic.however you can be a medic and be deployed.and having been to Iraq there isn't to much difference between the hospital and the field. Stuff gets blown up everywhere. Peace

You can be a medic. I have been one for over 5 years and some of the best medics I have worked with were females. If you have a Associates Degree already you can even apply for PA and be done in 2 years with a Masters Degree. GOOD LUCK.

My son wants to be a doctor in the military. He says it's important to save soldiers when they get hurt. He's only six, but even he knows how important combat medical personnel are. These people are those that my son looks up too, but all soldiers are his heroes.
