  • With the attitude he has I'm not sure he's a fit person to be a doctor!! Just look at his other videos - often in arguments with other drivers - must say something about his cycling and behaviour. (As a doctor he should be double checking his spelling etc.)

I agree that the taxi driver also could improve his attitude!

  • awww you spat at me wahhhhhh. go cry to mummy. seems like you got nothing els to do but cry about other people on the road try being a driver. oh and you never got it on camera jackass

  • could i borrow your magical invisible measuring device?? I would like to go off randomly at people for getting "too close" too!

  • I bet you were not taught to weave in an out of stationary traffic during your "lesson". Speaks volumes about the number of times you argue with other road users! (P.s. Visibilty is spelt with an "i" not an "a".)

  • @hughc178 Hey by the way the person you are spell checking is in fact a Glasgow doctor so id imagine he is probably a good deal more educated and intelligent than YOU! have you never hit the wrong key? Im losing my faith in humanity here. Spitting is the most digusting and demeaning thing you can do to a person. Taxi driver was a disgrace to Glasgow cab drivers and his company.

  • A bicycle is not a car! Stop taking up an entire lane of traffic!!!!

  • Good on the taxi driver for spitting at you. David Brennan (the cyclist) you are a fucking discgrace and should crawl under a stone and die

  • You just spat at me - thats ...... a salt!!!! (probably given the Scottish diet it was!!!)

  • Is it really everyone else who is the problem - or is it in fact YOU!!??

  • Cycling in the middle of the road again - all your videos on your channel are where you have had arguments with other road users - that must point to something!! Suggest you look at getting some road safety / cycling lessons before going back on the road.

  • @hughc178 You've obviously never had a road safety or cycling lesson in your life because we're taught to ride in the centre of the lane (primary position) where appropriate to stop dangerous overtaking or increase visability (say approaching an intersection). So if he went to one of those classes he'd just be told "well done".

  • Before Christmas I had a white overtake and then cut me up and it was annoying, as he could've just stayed behind me for a few more meters, but I had to brake to avoid being hit.

  • How dare that Driver spat at you! Feel sorry for you.

  • well done for keeping calm there mate, even when he spat at you you still refrained from swearing to make your point that he was in the wrong

  • Stop driving in the middle of the road mate.

Oh, and nice Supra at 0:18

  • he was right - you cycling in the middle of the road mate... as you are doig on each and every of your videos... hes bang on, however he lost all respect when he spat.... but it wasnt assault.

  • @thevinyljunkie it is an assault go read up on the law.

  • If someone spat at me whilst I was Cycling I would be inclined to knock their mirror off tbh... although it would cause more problems I have to admit.

  • Comment removed

  • is spitting assault? didn't even no lol

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA 1:45 "ummmmm, i report you XD"

  • subs please

  • I Love his laugh at 2:49 - On the other hand he was too close, i would just tone the conversation down a bit though.

  • THATS ASSAULT! :'(

  • I spent 2 years in Canada but I can't understand a single word of that conversation. What language is it?

  • @pi314159t english.

  • so thats twice on the same road you've driven RIGHT in the middle of the road and wonder why other road users get the hump??? Jesus christ...

  • @AdamWebb1982 visibilety is the only protection a cyclist has, the 'ups - I did not see you' crap comes up every time we get a near miss but the driver is wraped in a nice steel box.

  • @mellowNdark You're just a cager whos to scared/or lazy to get of his fat arse, step out of his cage and put his self into a cyclists position. If you think the situation in this video was ok, you seriously need your head looking at.

the cyclists did nothing what so ever wrong. Which granted, isn't always the case, this time it was though.

If the fucker spat at me, I'd certainly have done more than just say 'thats assault.'

Disgusting behavior, no doubt something you'd also do.

  • you just spat at me

    you just spat at me

    hahaha fucking hilarious

  • I hope you reported that one...

  • dont you think you should keep to the left when riding on the roads and stop cutting junctions like you did at the end of the video

  • @TheAsh5 Are you a cyclist?

If so, look up why its a piss poor idea to cycle in the gutter (the left of the road), cycle as close as you can without putting your self in dangerous.

It encourages dangerous overtakes, its often filled with shite/grids and often in the 'door zone'.

Secondly, what he did in the end was piss poor cycling. No excuse for that!

  • ''Whats your problem!?'' '' You are my fucking problem!'' Haha

  • Driver looked like he had thyroid problem...and high blood pressure. I think you were pretty calm... I feel there was a case for physically restraining him while you explained the situation.

  • @mysteryelv "Thyroid Problem", that sounds like an excuse or title for things [ Fat is Fat ] that we use here in the states. That rather large chap has just got too many chips and pints in his system, and not enough exercise in his daily activities, ie. less time on the chase lounge, and behind the wheel of his car, and more on a cycle, would be good/better for his health. ; > )

  • @mysteryelv haha i agree. i find in my line of work most professional drivers have similar health problems, thanks to their sedentary lifestyle

  • Are cyclists allowed to undertake ?

  • i didnt see him spit...

  • Why is scotlands roads full of nasty road ragers,1/ because they are all eating junk fatty food giving high blood pressure,2/ they dont get enough exercise,3/they dont get enough sex because of the previous 2 facts.

  • it is funny how much of a mouthy prick you are. i cant understand why you dont get thrashed every day

  • I think it is you are riding dangerously. You should stick to the left edge. Here in Poland, so cyclists ride even though we do not have so many lanes for them

  • That driver needs to be looked at. He has some serious issues.

  • Well did you end up reporting him?? What was the outcome??

  • @MuDDyBuLL3tS

Technically it is an assault, and yes it was a pussy reaction. Although, when you have had a gobful of slime in your face, you'll know how unpleasant it is. Personally, I'd not have blamed the mighty atom if he'd decked the B*****d.

  • I've read your "When it's time to tell the cops", but would do it on these "assault" occasions? If not, I can't help but feel you should hit his mirror or something, not like bicycles have rego or anything. I don't know I'm not an aggressive person myself... but I'm probably just thinking loudly in an angry state

  • Unsurprisingly most of the negative comments come from the United States where everyone drives trucks and think they own the road.

  • where do u actualy go on ur bike

  • Fat useless taxi driver - imagine him arriving if you chose to use a taxi on an night out... A lot of taxi drivers make an effort to dress reasonably but this lazy fat idiot couldn't even be bothered to do that. He clearly needs anger management courses.

  • I'm not a fan of him, I must say. As a Glasgow man, Magnatom, do you know of Oliver's Taxi Firm? I've had coutless interactions with them. They, and their drivers, are crooks and have no respect for the law. Not long ago I had a light collision with one who overtook me on Fulton St and pulled in far too early. He blamed me, of course. I find Taxi drivers in Glasgow to be above the law.

Great video, as ever. Great response. Looking forward to your future videos, hopefull nothing too serious!

  • Nobody likes queue jumpers, whether at the supermarket, at the bank, or in a line of traffic. The cabbie watched you move along the inside, and then slot in the Q of traffic infront of the Hyundai in front of him. I avoid this on my cycle commute most of the time, 'cos I know it aggravates drivers. If there is a Q to the traffic lights, I only filter forward if I am sure I can get to the front, before they change Green.

  • Wow, seriously? Way too many cyclists stopping and making the situation worse. Whatever you think, engaging with this kind of driver will ALWAYS make things worse.

There's also a lot of moaning and whinging in these cycle videos on YT - thicker skins are required I think.

  • Rab C Nesbitt is alive and well & driving a Taxi!

  • assault for spitting at you? c'mon, man up seriously

  • I think I may have met this taxi driver the week after you magnatom. I made a comment about him sqeezing past at a set of lights. He started mouthing off at the next lights then he went round the next corner parked up and was out of his cab threatening me. I did not stop though.

  • @ azraelbum As a fellow cyclist I suggest you have a read of the highway code, nothing wrong with the lane used on the roundabout.

  • I can't help thinking as a fellow commuting cyclist that you are wearing a gillet with 'give me a hard time' written on your back. When confronted stay calm and don't raise your voice, it catches them out everytime.

  • one of these days your gonna cause a fucking accident you fucking idot and to be honest i fucking hope its you getting hit by a HGV you muppet all you do is like causing arguments and shit so yeah good luck to your future you stupid fucker....

  • Well you ride down the middle of the road and you use the wrong lane on the roundabouts. As a fellow cyclists im saddened to see this level of stupidity from someone who rides a cycle and complains when car drivers wish to make progress

  • So what was the outcome my dear friend?

  • u were in the wrong lane on the roundabout

  • I'm sure there is a fine line between filtering and queue jumping, I'm guessing that's what he thought at the roundabout queue. Filtering is progressing without making any difference to others isn't it? Generally why motorcycles are pretty good at it, fast get away. I may well of been hacked off if something 'filtered' to the front then held me up a little. Just another point of view Mags.

Him spitting is totally unacceptable & the punishment driving from what you say.

  • We didn't like this video, the horrible wind noise woke us up and we didn't like the shouting at all.

Whatever happened to 'have a nice day'!

  • he was just having a shitty day/week/month/year/life and you were an oppertunity to vent, i think?

  • Damn, looks like you just missed the draft of the cars that were merging into the circle ahead of you. He probably wouldn't have cared if you weren't then at the front of the line. In his mind you were the reason no one could merge, even though jumping in after the green car is exactly what any auto would have had to wait to do. Can't please everyone.

  • Taxi drivers! What are they like? Well like this one usually. Please report this guy for assault and keep us updated. Your encounter did nothing to provoke him.

  • I feel sorry for the fat little angry man. That's a classic case of penis compensation, IMO. Bad driving, bad attitude, and doesn't deserve a driving licence, much less a cabbing one.

  • I'd love to hear the response from the taxi licensing authority and the taxi company.

  • Cabbie doesnt understand the legalities of filtering and needs to SERIOUSLY brush up on it. Spitting at people is disgusting - is it more visible on the original file?

  • Talk about your stereotypical arsehole taxi driver....babbling on trying to explain what he thinks you did wrong.

  • Silly little fat man

  • Actually feel sorry for the driver. Obviously lots of health and social issues going on. However, we can’t have licensed minicabs behaving like that. Lets hope Glasgow taxi and minicab licensing authority take appropriate action. Hope it didn’t spoil your day.

  • @robojimpip I know what you mean, but any sympathy I had went out the window when he spat at me.

  • Some people a) need to know when to shut up, and b) not get out of a car to swear and spit at people. The jobless figures might go up by one because of this.

  • That could have been easily avoided if you hadn't stopped to argue could it not? Possibly following you a bit close as he's spotted a gap in oncoming traffic to overtake you. He overtook you reasonably ok. What did you gain from stopping?

  • @addictr418 I agree. No need to stop to get in a confrontation. Just continue on and enjoy your ride.

  • @USCyclist2000 You seriously need to consider if you want to go in front of someone like that. He will be passing you again - only next time he will be pissed, and he will not have become a better driver in the mean time.

It may well be the wiser option to stop.

  • @xliijoe So its perfectly alright to keep confronting people like this all the time? I mean, seriously, sometimes it's just better to ride on and let it go. I don't get into many confrontations that much myself, especially with maniac's like these on the roads.

  • @USCyclist2000 Well obviously if you have to "keep confronting people like this all the time" then something is wrong... I also very rarely get into something as nasty as this.

That said, when you are faced with completely unacceptable behaviour, you must confront it if possible - it is simply taking social responsibility.

And yes, of course this has to be balanced. In my opinion, the videos magnatom uploads shows that he is a balanced and reasonable person.

  • @USCyclist2000 Confonting people about their pathetic behaviour and attitude is the only way these people will learn that what they're are doing is wrong.

Being apathetic to it will just teach these people that they can get away with it.

Act like a twat, get told you're acting like a twat.

  • @setra23 - There's nothing apathetic about avoiding a confrontation with someone you know NOTHING about. There's no way to know what this person's intent or capabilities are. There are people who seek this kind of confrontation, and some that hope it will escalate into a brawl. Here's a hint: They'll pull over and get out of their car to argue! That's a strong signal that you DON'T want to stick around!

Just keep moving and keep an eye over your shoulder ;)

  • @addictr418 I didn't like the idea of him pulling out after I passed and being behind me. Thought it safer to stop. Im also genuinely curious about why he drove the way he did.

  • @addictr418 From the angle of the front wheels it could have been closer than the wide angle camera portrays. And sometimes, yes, you''d rather have an aggressive driver in front of you.

Sounds more to me that Magnatom stopped to calm the guy rather than argue. His tone was gentle and nonconfrontational from the off. (Until the cabbie starts speaking shit)

  • @downfader2 The pass wasn't to bad, it was how close he was behind. I do think I was pretty calm and controlled...up until he spat.

  • Wow, you are one brave dude. I would be very unwilling to pull-over with a bloke that looked like that. My hats off to ya. I would be interested in knowing what his company says.
