that really doesn't work for me, it just gets messy and doesn't stay poofy. the best way is to actually tease the roots down and hair spray like crazy

That all depends on you, usually straightening already straight hair gives a sleeker look, but if your hair is naturally very sleek, then no u dont have too :)

Well it depends on how close the teeth are together, like a teasing comb, the teeth are all very close together, dont use a wide tooth comb.

yes it isn't the best for your hair. i use heavy duty deep conditioner for damaged and breakable hair. it helps and i also dont tease everyday.

I dont know what a teasing comb looks like :x. My hair doesent really stand up properly when i tease it.. I use Liese Hairspray.. Rawr

I show a teasing comb at :25. It basically has very thin teeth that are all close together. Any salon type hairspray works good, such as Kenra, thats the best, better than Got2Be, lol this is an old video. The more you mat your hair, the more easily it will stick up! :) Hope that helped!

it is a pretty strong hairspray, but the hair stands up because of the teasing, the mat of hair that teasing creates, lifts up the hair, without that, my hair wont stand up

it can if you dont treat your hair with deep conditioners and hot oil treatments. it also depends on your hair. i do get split ends from time to time, but just get them trimmed

I want "scene"hair, but evertime I tell them to do the layers they never do it right, so how would I tease it? And what do you tell the people when you get your hair cut?

The best salon is Toni and Guy so if you have that in your area, go there. Any edgy/punk salon is the best because they really know how to do crazy styles. Even if its just layers you want, they do great. Having layers makes teasing a whole lot easier. If you dont have layers then just tease the hair closest to your scalp and flatten it down so it looks bigger, dont tease the whole entire length of your hair. Hope that helped :)
