@jlcyamaha cr500 is a 20 year old engine design, and makes 20more HP than a 2011 crf450, or as much as two cr125s strapped to the same dyno

@MetricHotrodsdotcom kinda the 2011 rmz 450 wich has the most hp puts out 57 stock a cr 500 puts out about 60 stock, but heres where you are right, throw a pipe on that 500 and you at like 68 hp that is more useable than stock power, throw a pipe on that rmz and your at like 58 hp, but yes a 20 year old desighn still kickin ass 20 years later, whats wrong with that picture?

the old cr 500 like the 84 were fast as fuck, but harder to control. New bikes are not "faster" as far as torque and HP, they have better power to torque ratio and improved ergonomics and lighter of course. The old bikes were not for pussys I think that is what homeslice is trying to say. ... Dirt rider did a race with a 70s bike and an aprox 87 mx bike. The race was closer than you would think. Old bikes had raw power, less design,...hard to control and took more skill to master.

I didn't know they still let you ride 2 strokes or any kind of dirt bike in California anymore. LOL! I grew up in the Bay Area and used to go to Hollister or Carnegie Hills. Where is this track at? Private Property most likely. I love Utah because I can ride out my front door. Literally, I have a 89 CR500 and its great to just jump on and ride. Power Unlimited.

The track here is at metcalf which is owned by the county so its not privatly owned, Were in the bay area did you grow up cuz i thought that Metcalf wuz hella old.
