  • Ron Paul is right on. In almost all areas. I disagree with him on some aspects but overall, 98% of his thinking is what needs to happen, and it will happen. It's just do we have time before the dollar collapses and the New Order steps in. Hmmm.. this may be our last chance to get things straight...before it's too late. No one even comes close to Ron and his view. He is the only sane one. God please forbid Mitt Romney to get into office. Where is Ralph Nader these days?

  • @ConRevolutionary BC the war is not being fought to protect your interests. Its being fought to protect a few corporate interests in the military-industrial complex. Including: big oil, arms manufacturers, and big banks (war means loans!). A pipeline runs through Afghanistan and guess who's guarding it, us. It has nothing to do with saving you money.It has to do with maximizing profit for a handful of oligarchs who have greased the right palms, stealing other countries resources for private gain

It's about getting revenge for 9/11 in Afghanistan, and in Iraq it's about making sure Saddam doesn't ever violate a peace treaty ever again.Big oil has nothing to do with this war, like I said, if were truly about oil we'd have actually taken the fields and flooeded the market, but that didn't happen, OPEC still has us by the ear.The oil pipeline in Afghanistan is a hoax, it never was built, and the company that was behind it is defunct.

  • @hitlerscow The pentagon's funding should be cut by at least half, and we should leave all three of our current military interventions right now. There's no need for a big military currently, so I think we should downsize it. But where I go astray from Mr. Paul is I don't think we should get rid of the C.I.A, the C.I.A is a valuable agency, while grossly inefiecient currently, with reforms we could have one like we had during the cold war.

The wars were not to "kill sand niggers" and to "make sure Saddam doesn't [disobey us]." If that were the case, we'd be gone already, as the mission would be accomplished. You're using classic doublethink. Oil companies make record profits during the wars. You think this is coincidence? Did u forget that all war machines need oil to fight?

  • @ConRevolutionary It has nothing to do with the free market. It would not be flooded because they control the supply. They control the supply, they control the price. Guess what happens when prices are manipulated like this? High prices for the consumer, record profits for the corporations that hold all the cards. The military-congressional-complex (including big oil) is real and one of the biggest forces that drive American foreign policy to war.

Secondly the high prices are caused by a massive array of high taxes on the oil companies, you can thank Mr. Obama for that, remember when Jimmy Carter was president and the oil prices went up? It wasn't gov't manipulation, but huge taxes. The reason we invaded Iraq was because they violated the damned Gulf War treaty, and they were arming up.

  • @hitlerscow Informed, rofl at that. The tax is $0.48, fucking idiot. Iraq was a paper tiger, like North Korea is now. But they violated the fucking treaty by rebuilding their military. And if we allow countries to disregard treaties, it makes other countries far more willing to violate agreements. The war should have been over as soon as we captured Saddam, but we've stayed there far too long.

  • @ConRevolutionary the reason we invaded Iraq was because Iraq, North Korea and Iran were all going to switch off the dollar when buying/selling oil and go to the Euro. No way could we have that. Iran is developing Nuke energy as an alternative as well. Yes they may attack Israel, who knows. But this is the inside story. Imagine the world switching off the dollar and going to another currency? Worse thing that could happen.

He just doesn't want us to be shoveling money & lives all over the planet, with no end in sight, creating hatred everywhere we go. He wants our international presence to be peaceful, not military. You sound like all the other warhawks that have been dragging our men into harm's way for the last several decades.

I guess you also missed the part where his district gets disproportionate federal aid, even taking priority over a disaster zone, which mind you both are coastal districts.   • I could support Ron Paul if he didn't keep trying to push a pro-life agenda or if he admitted there is a right to privacy in the constitution. How can he believe that any government, state or federal, has any right to criminalize what people do in the privacy of their bedroom? "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." I'd say two consenting adults have a right to do whatever they please in private.

  • Ron Paul talks a lot about privacy from government so I'm not sure where you are coming from with that one. He has also never said that consenting adults should be restricted on what they do in private. Again, not sure where that one came from. He also doesn't push a pro-life agenda. He is pro-life but also states that it has absolutely nothing to do with the Feds because of the enumerated powers. It is a state matter via the 10th amendment. Come to the Paul Side!

The government may have taken them to the financial buffet, but they're the ones who couldn't help themselves. Not all banks were horribly irresponsible. The private sector is not helpless.

    I will agree with Ron Paul on one thing, corporatism is our biggest threat. If the private sector owns the government, we have no freedom.

  • Look at some of his interviews and videos here on youtube. He has said before that he supported Reagan when he TALKED about smaller government, but that Reagan only talked about it and the size of government actually increased during his time in office.

  • You have to understand that most of those that are being extreme in this Movement are more so emboldened by propaganda from people like Glenn Beck, though he makes sidelining good lines about freedom and transparency and limited govt. The idea of misinterpretation is too big now. There is such a big disconnect between what the bills actually give power to and who controls that power. Even though some points may be true not all should be believed it takes a proper education to really get it.

  • I grew up in Ron's dist., he delivered 2 of my cousins, my dad works w/his oldest son, Ronnie Jr., I was Ron's Field Coord. in my state as well as the founder & national coord. of Homeschoolers for Ron Paul & until recently the Campaign for Liberty state coordinator for my state. I have his home phone and personal email address. I haven't known Joe as long, but talk to, email or txt with him on a da basis. So, yes I know them both. Is it really that hard to believe? They're both just men.

  • It's not about Ron Paul. It never was, certainly not for me. If you argue that Paul did not get any support from anti-war (war on drugs, MIC) "liberals", as did Kucinich and other non-mainstream candidates, then it is you who are delusional.

  • Ummm, I'm a classical liberal, and I "follow" him or if you will, agree with on on every stance. If you really get irritated at Ron Paul supporters, then ignore them. I don't really care if they believe in a 9/11 conspiracy, just as long as they look up and learn the austrian business cycle.

  • I have to agree with ryanjiii - these two are long time friends. Considering the disrespect Dr Paul received during the Presidential primary debates from Fox news and Charles Gibson, Joe's interviews are refreshing.

  • We need competing currencies. Once we feel there is corruption in one currency we can choose to use the other. Ron Paul knows the crooks want one "rigged" currency
