Imo thats how to build him. although everything depends on how the game is going and who u are up against.

the reason to go mighty blade before portal key is because u need survivability. Shruken CAN be good to pick up before PK sometimes depending if ur up against heavy magicdps

My own setup is this= start with hactchet 2x blight, Hp potion and mana potion > Bottle> Steamboots> (Shroud if no stealth heroes in team) / Portal Key > Shrunken Head, Wingbow, Behemoths Heart. And btw, I'm not saying that this is the best, but Soul Stealer can be built many different styles, depends on how the game is going.

@wcpelle sounds fine although 1st, you should never ever ever ever get a hatchet on soulstealer because hes a) a ranged hero, hence the +% damage you get from hatchet isnt worth the money and b) hes getting enough damage boost from his soulsteal. 2nd point: portel key and shrunken are situational IMHO although you need ONE of them. if you get kills without the PK, go for DPS items and/or shrunken. if you need it to initiate, get it. plus, im not a huge fan of behe heart on carries.

I usually go frostwolf skull for him instead of shielbreaker or savage. Its lovely since you get the slow + hp and with the slow it is insanly easy to get your demon hands off

What on earth do you mean by "Breastplate doesn't really add any damage" ?!?!?! It adds insane amounts of damage due to his -5 armor aura.. Late game you really want to remove that armor to gain percentage of your damage. You also don't mention cloak which is a very VERY nice item for SS because he can stand on enemy heroes while casting ulti instead of right beside them.. There is a HUGE difference.. If you hit perfectly with SS ulti he deals R1 900 R2 1400 R3 1800 blink deals 50% oThat

@FilipXGusak you can go to options and check the "show health bars" option. for some reason hon resets it by accident sometimes on your account. but you can change it in game by pressing F6 and going to options if you forget to change it before the game starts

i disagree with getting post haste, i personally like steam boots better for the attack speed and survivability, i usually think that the portal key is enough maneuverability for both offence and escaping.

another thing i would have mentioned is that SS is not an initiator, his ult is great damage and portal key is good for getting inside the enemy team but he is too fragile no matter what items you get, his massive damage is best brought in as a secondary initiation, after the first.

My starting items for mid (assuming teammates bought courier)

2 duck boots

2 minor totems

1 set of runes of blight

that gives you abit of hp, +8 damage for soulstealers shitty base damage and some regen for harass.

you get 100g leftover, so you get bottle quicker too.

if teammates dont buy courier, get it yourself, its vital. swap out 1 duckboot and buy a minor totem instead.

One little hint, from the min 35 to the later game, melee creeps have 600hp, with their minor hp reg, they leave through 2 demon hands with really minor health, and usually get killed buy the creeps in one hit.

I usually make sure to be far before my creeps to make sure I can get all last hits, or wait unitl all creeps are damaged before landings demon hands.
