the reason this song never made it onto an album:

the riff is 'meh', just another morello single string drop d riff.

follows a formula - intro (rockout), verse (soft), chrous, verse, chorus, guitar solo, then buildup with drums and guitar with wah pedal, leading into a final rokcout

listen to: sound of a gun, born of a broken man, and theres probably a few other songs that follow said format

When AS got toghether they wrote around 20 songs for their debut album in a little less than three weeks. This is one of the songs that never made it to the final version of the album. Officially called "Gold"

Other songs not included on the album include "We've got the Whip" (KILLER song!) as well as "Give"

As a sidenote, "Give" was performed live in Tokyo.

Audioslave probably have around 25-30 unreleased songs that nobody in the general public has heard yet. Maybe one day!

They wrote 21 songs and the song is actually called 'Turn to gold'!
