  • id never heard of this guy till our band covered this song :)

  • @MATTHEWJAMESmusic82 Now thats incredible. Not The Doobies either? How old are you? Well, nevermind, that dont matter. Fetus's know about the great bearded one.lol

  • this is so coked out and funky. i fuckin love it.

  • Warren G wishes he was as funky as this white ass old man...

  • @namijoh word life.........and not just this track either....all the tracks that he sings on with The Doobies too.Funky scrump-diddi-umptuous music. Its a alot of em out there like that from the 70's. Steely Dan,Hall N Oats,Gino Vanelli, etc etc. They all funky den a mafucca.Fuck wit me.

  • Warren G sampled this track.....

  • His voice makes me so happy.

  • Micheal sounds amazing, what happened with the chick?is that David Pack in the backround?

  • @billycmo The chick is Emmylou Harris. One of the biggest stars in Country music alive today. She still releases albums, very good ones too.

  • Is that Chet Atkins on guitar? Wow! It's like an early Crossroads!

  • Great clip great song...

  • Pitty that the drummer used eight notes instead of the 16th the late and great Jeff used on this one... Butt still a great song!

  • the groove

  • Muito bom. Relembrando o passado...

  • Emmylou, Chet Adkins and Mark Knopfler that's some backup crew!

  • @euqip I think I also saw David Pack from Ambrosia

  • @euqip Amen! I was watching Michael so closely then read your comment and took a look around at that group! WOW! Amazing!

  • I guess the guy has a lot of great musical friends!!

  • What on earth is Mark Knopfler doing on here - were Dire Straits having a few weeks off !

  • even if that chick really is stevie nicks... her voice doesn't work here sorry

  • @bun223 You're right....it doesn't fit. Emmylou Harris is famous for more "country-type" singing. Check out "Together Again", "Here, There & Everywhere", "Evangeline". I think you'll like!!

  • @ladyfuschia ok I'll try some of those out

  • @ladyfuschia You're right..... I like her voice more for country. And plus... it sounds like more sincerity in her voice, when she sings country.... like she's really comfortable with that style of singing.

  • @bun223 She's old now but still a legend!

  • lol his background singers suck

  • Naw.... you guys are right....drummer is indeed Larry Londin, not Glenn Frey

  • I think the drummer is Glenn Frey of the Eagles...

  • Chet Atkins on acoustic guitar solo... Mark Knopfler on the white electric guitar....

  • bass player looks like David Hungate from Toto....

  • that's David Pack from Ambrosia on the left singing backup vocals; I don't recognize the guy in the center or on the right....

  • Larry Londin play drums for journey when steve smith left.

  • is the the EVERLEY BROS singing back vocals?

  • This was from an HBO special in the 80s (87, apparently.) It was an all-star tribute to Chet Atkins. There were a lot of famous musicians playing their hearts out. I hope that somewhere this whole special is online. It was really good.

  • best version on utube, thx

  • Ahhhh, the late great Larry Londin.........Man is he missed in Nashville!!!

  • The female singer is Emmy-Lou Harris. To the nose-picking, hamburger-eating obviously american nimrods who had a problem with the "foreigner" speaking at the beginning of this piece. The speaker (Russian?) was setting up the next performance for his audience, to which I assume the person who was kind enough to post this video belongs. You imbeciles are not at the center of the universe and YOU are foreigners to the rest of the world! Trust me, the rest of the world views you as ignorami.

  • @57eer

    Up yours.

  • Comment removed

  • Anybody have this without the foreign voice over. It's really hard to hear the other person speak.

  • fuck the foreigner speaking!

  • Like 2patero said - smokin'! Just awesome....M. McDonald's vocal artistry is just awesome - serious R&B voice of the ages. The vibe is awesome. That held-tension, energy-charged, emotion-edged, "straining-to-the-edge" sound that comes at you in that fabulous vocal style places him in the realm of the greatest vocalists of all time.

  • Michael McDonald the Funkiest white dude on the Planet! Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler playing funk.....SMOKIN!

  • That's David pack from ambrosia too. Nice video!!!

  • does anybody know the drummers name?

  • @KilmerVarient His name is Larry London. Great drummer, btw.

  • Is the female background singer Nicolette Sheridan? It looks like her to me?

  • @vrj40

Michael says 'Emmy-Lou Harris' at the end of the vid, so I'd assume he's talking about that singer.
