  • I got a packet of 10 Channa micropeltes about the same size as the video shown for S$2 which is about US$1.60. Which means 16 (US) cents per fish. These snakeheads (this particular species) are cheap in Asia because they are readily available for human consumption (those 30cm and above). Someone asked if they are delicious. YES!!

  • how many gallons is this tank?

  • i have this type of snakhead.he is still young and i mix him with my oscars, parrot chcild, climbing perch and marble goby.will it get along?

  • smart edition to your tank..... in a few months they will be eating all those other fish in your tank too...........

  • Can you buy a snakehead in Canada ??

  • If they taste good, we should farm them to eat.

  • Sucks to be small.

  • plz tell me where to get these?

  • @kennysteez They're illegal to keep as pets in the U.S. Only way you can have one is if it's dead and on ice.

  • @kennysteez Another good fish to have since these are illegal in the U.S. is the Oscar and are amazing fish and eat other fish

  • @bebay29 Is it true that Snakeheads are now illegal to own in the US? In 1992 in NJ I owned a snakehead. It was all of the as described. I remember it being a beautiful exciting fish to watch. It had a lot of energy and a gluttonous appetite.

So are they illegal now? Can you get them with some kind of permit?

  • @jam4987u987 As of the state of Maryland it is illegal to purchase or own a snake-head because they have been released in the wild and are causing problems with the ecosystem. For this reason it is now classified as an invasive species. Just check with your local law enforcement or DNR and you should have all your answers answered correctly and it would be up to date information. Try an oscar arowana pacu or pirannah. i prefer the oscar and arowana.

  • fish eat fish in the real world.. just saying.. quit bitchin about people feeding there fish live food. if that fish was in the wild it would be eating a million little fishes that you could have saved.. boo fucking hoo

  • @David13198....He is right and it carries a 250,000 fine. Hope you don't get caught, you will be paying for it the rest your life!!

  • hello, i'm from romania, i have a private pound, and i want to bring some snakehead here, is it possible?to they live in winter conditions?

  • The only upside to these fish: If you go out, it it jumps out, you aint gotta worry about it dying!

  • @vlamir omfg me 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man, maybe ya should keep the other fishes out from the snakeheads?

  • where do u live because keeping them as pets is illegal in the U.S.

  • hey when the fish grows big fry it and eat it if you want

  • its now illegal in most states of the US to own a snakehead as a pet... They are known for extreme aggression and if caught while fishing put on ice and eaten when home

  • kataba detiti

  • Can withstand temperature UP to zero degrees!? Wow, a high tolerance indeed! I'd like to tolerate such high temperatures of UP UP UP to zero degrees.

  • nice vid I need to get one and i live in illnois can someone hook me up ?

  • there illegal...

  • they are expensive to feed =X

  • Is it really ok to keep your Snakehead with your Bichir?

  • oh btw, giant snakeheads/tomans don't really taste that good. local anglers would make fun of their catch because there's not much use for them.

however there's this other type of snakehead called the haruan that tastes better. they're kind of like health food around here and often consumed for skin care and quick wound healing. very good for those who've just got out of surgery and mothers after labor. tastes best steamed with lots of ginger and lemongrass.

  • i'm from malaysia and snakeheads are common here. the ones shown here are the giant snakehead (we call them tomans), and they're the most aggressive. other varieties of snakeheads are quite harmless.

these fishes don't nest actually. but it's true that they're very defensive in protecting their young. large females would guard schools of thousands of baby tomans in lakes or water reservoirs - easy targets for anglers.

if u want to know more about snakeheads, just drop me a line. cheers!

  • Haha, ikan haruan, shanh yu la, haruan porridge is nice!!

My toman ate up my tiny haruan, which i tot they are from the ame family tree, like cousin... but.......... now only left two toman kia..

  • @hypeOff LOL get that afterlife shit out of here, it's either heaven or hell when we die.

  • @hypeOff what about people who feed live mice to their snakes?

  • @hypeOff Hey dummy karma agrees with the circle of life... And so what hes feeding the fish its still how shit works for animals...

  • @hypeOff ur logic is off...cause that would be mean eventually we would all become goldfish....

  • @hypeOff uhhh karma isn't real and uhh bro its how the animal needs to eat get out of here with this bs about animal abuse for feeding a fish another fish for the snakehead to survive gtfo

  • Comment removed

  • @hypeOff well atleast you have a short lived life as a gold fish then become a human again and feed more gold fish to snake heads

  • @hypeOff so what will it eat in the wild 2 survive duh fishes 2 theres no fish palet in the wild

  • @hypeOff hmm, the lion king says different

  • I hope this guy knows that snakeheads get big.. and will eat anything in their tank...

They are so awesome though, to bad you can't really get them in Canada they have been banned.

Also they have videos of people fishing for large snakeheads in Thailand... Imagine a huge pike and 10 times more aggressive, and you have a snakehead.

  • lol my m8 has had 2 baby snakeheads for 3 days and his molly vanished over nite lol

  • where do you find them? and what size tank do you need?

  • whoa they do look like snakes! once they're really big, are you going to kill them? I wouldn't think you'd release them if they are hazardous to the environment like that. Great video though, they sure are fast lol

  • whutever... he can release it anywhere.. native lol!!!

  • snakeheads ARE beautiful fish, but you can NOT just release them. you are ignorant if you don't understand the serious problem they are causing.

  • i live where the snakehead real habitat. i can catch em in my backyard. drain, lake, swamp,.. not a probs.. pack of pacu, python, crocs, crazy fishers, and dry season can control their population... btw.. snakehead is a good meal.. pls check my vid about eating snakehead.

  • In a couple of months ur mollies will be eaten

  • months? Try in a few days or even hours. These guys tear fish into pieces if they cannot fit in their mouths.

  • not giants at all. but in a few monthes those fish will eat anything smaller than themselves in the tank.

  • ive'd got one!hahha!!

  • giant snakeheads can catch almost everything..

  • like some poor guys balls?

  • haha, those little fishes are so fast

  • I love snakeheads. Mollies aren't expensive here in the philippines. They cost 25cents each, even cheaper if you buy in volume. I want to buy a snakehead now and releasing it in the lake near our house just for fun. Hahaha!!! Lame...

  • lol would be funny.

  • please don't and say you did it ...please

  • I didn't do it man... It's just a joke... Sorry to keep you worried... :-)

  • Thanks man...now I can sleep in peace lol

  • were can u buy those things?

  • IF you see a snakehead, make it go extinct!!!!

Hey why don;t you make a video titled "SNAKEHEAD STARVING"!!!!

    LOL!!!

These stupid fish come in so many colors and paterns it's hard to figure out what's what, but they're all ugly and nasty! These 2 in the video look like Wrasses, but Wrasses are saltwater and much smaller.

  • snakeheads live in saltwater when they grow older too

  • but way cool video!

  • Don't keep archers in fresh water.

  • Agreed they are BRACKISH!

  • Exterminate them. Ugly, plus obviously nothing will be viable around them.

  • how long do all those fish last for 1 feed?

  • dam your rich feeding it mollys

  • Love your Tank but the mollies and archerfish are brackish water, and soon your snakeheads will eat all your fish I see you have a bichir which is problably the only fish ok with snakeheads!!!

  • hey man, what's the name of this song? i like it but i don't know its name.

  • Iv been looking for one for a long time I have several different aggressive fish and this is one iv been wanting for a long time could you tell me were or how to get one please!

  • My pal told me that he had a bag of feeders on top of the water just like this and the snakehead bit a hole in the bag, gained entry and bashed the shit out of the feeders while inside the bag... was waiting of that to happen here.

  • What are u the other zebra stripped fishes with the snakeheads.

  • mangisda, kids will be eaten if u leave them in ur pond, they can walk out of lakes n stuff and go other places and eat prettty big stuff. be cautious

  • Great fishes but soon enough, all other fishes will be a your snakeheads food. ..i had 2 snakeheads, when i got them they were only the size of my finger, after 2 months they were the size of my arm. I have to take them out of my 50gal tank and put them in my backyard pond.

  • love your tank!

  • you wanna sell me one?

    haha jk nice fish though

  • now my snakeheads are about 11inch and it already eaten my 3inched archer fish and 4.5inch malayan halfbeak ...tsk!tsk! never combine expensive fish with these. You'll just be surprised one morning its already a species tank
