I think the new karate kid has a poor name instead of being a remake of the first karate kid it should just be called karate kid 4 or whatever number is next because rather than being a remake of the first one it has an entirely different storyboard (different plot, characters, setting, etc.). Dude, watch Rocky. At least the first movie. It's the movie(s) that Karate Kid is based on, and it's the same thing. Only, instead of Daniel, you got a jolly amateur boxer and instead of a Japanese old martial arts master, you got an ex-boxer turned manager that trains Rocky in boxing, not karate. It's quite simply, without even exaggerating, one of the best movies ever conceived (written by Stallone himself!).

Then again, I haven't seen Karate Kid (yet).
