I need this video for my husband. I have been riding since I was little. I am by no means an expert at it. But I know how to handle sudden out bursts of craziness. My husband thinks he could ride my horse fine. So I put him on are beginner horse told he if he knows so much show me. the horse after he got on walked over to a corner. while my husband is trying to tell him to go.(aka his telling the horse to go was just him saying " move horse"). and it is not easy. yet even with the thought that i may get bucked off and kicked in the face or get rolled on doesn't keep me from riding. It is an amazing sport, and no one can claim it is easy, unles u have ridden a bombproff horse in a little arena.
@MillanPeanut These are championship horses, genius. People choose to jump and go for the top just like people go for the Grand Prix in Dressage. Don't judge until you've trained for that commitment yourself.

You know, we do make it look easy... I looked back at one of my lessons, and how easily it seemed I got Topsider (the horse) to just canter and approach the jumps with such courage, made me laugh. I was like, "Damn, we make it look EASY!" Especially when he tripped and I saw the ground two inches from my face, we both played it off great. So did these riders, gr8 vid!
Oh my god that clip where the rider face planted into the jump I cringed! But I do NOT like how some of these horses are being treated, not all mind you some are genunely just being buttheads because believe it or not pwoplw horses are sometimes stubborn and tesy and will act out no matter how the rider rides, but some of these riders give the horse reason to act out. But still an amazin job well done :))

Seriously can we put those people on high strung stallions and have them jump a grand prix level course. Or do advanced level eventing. Or grand prix dressage movements. I think they would change their mind so fast they would give themselves whiplash.

I did get right back on a few min after I fell. I bet the people that say horseback riding is not a sport, would not have the guts to get back on after a fall.
And this is how I broke my hip after riding all my life, but I'm back on my boy now, and loving it as much as ever, even more of a challange! I can just show your very well-put-together video to all the people in my life who don't truly understand how and why I broke my hip in a jump and then got back on.
