  • I really care for this song. The woman who called us home for supper, my mother had a distinctive call for just us nine kids. It was like the whoop whoop of a whooping crane or somesuch. We knew it was just for us and we would be in hot water if we did not respond. Our call to Heaven has been answered by so many. YouTube and its ministers such as hoover4000 keep singers like George Younce, Jake Hess, Hovie Lister, Glenn Payne & more alive in our heats through You Tube. Thank you so much..

  • LORD I DO MISS MY MOM TELLING ME IT IS SUPPERTIME SHE PASS AWAY 4 YEARS AGO

  • BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF MY MOTHER CALLING ME HOME FOR SUPPER!!

  • Still awesome words. Oh, that more Americans would look forward to going home at last. A 95 yr old woman died this week and went home, and this song was mentioned at her funeral. The Master called her, and she was ready. Are you ready?

  • Grande George ! que saudade. Esteja com Deus.

  • Any chance of uploading Getting Used To The Family Of God by the Gaithers? I think it came from Joy in the Camp.

  • mmthomaas328 - looks can be deceiving. While our earthly tent is decaying, our heavenly tent is being perfected.

  • My Great-Grandfather's last words were about this song he died in 1972, then over ten years later I was born and grew up to love this song. Southern Gospel transcends the years and generations. No one does this song like George!

  • This one will be played at my funeral when I hear the Master call "Come home, come home, it's suppertime!"

  • @ladytxlove My memory of this song goes back to the funeral of Milburn "Doc" Stone, who played Dr. Adams in "Gunsmoke." As we came in the record was playing. His wife said he loved that song more than any other and wanted it for his funeral.

  • what a day that will be

  • Another true treasure by this great quartet...:o)

  • With tears streaming I listen to this beautiful song. I sang it in church many times in my childhood and now it means even more to me. God is so good..

  • Oh My, the best version of supper time ever heard. Thought Jim Reeves' version was the best. But George's version superseeds that.

  • Halleluia to God be the Glory for this wonderful melody by a blessed pioneer of gospel song, oh what glory the heavenly choir resounds.......reminded me of a beautiful evangelist couple Brother & Sister Cole who blessed our New Zealand people in the 80's I believe they are singing with George in the heavenly choir....

today we santing my grandma home today july 6 2008 very good song may be met.

  • Back in the 'late '50's, early '60's, I spent my summers with Grandmother and Grandaddy on their farm. When gospel radio preaching came on mid day, Granddaddy came out the field and he and Grandmother got on their knees and prayed and worshipped our Lord Jesus. Oral Roberts would close the hour by singing "Come Home Come Home it's Suppertime." Suppertime is almost here folks. Get Ready!!!!

  • Wonderful video, These days I long more & more to go home. No pain, no pills just the peace in our Lord .

    Thank-You for this video

  • Boy...David Phelps looks thrilled to be thre around :35.

  • was that sarcasm? lol

  • Oh yeah...look at him. He looks so miserable.

  • probably just tired, most of the gaither concerts tend to last hours upon hours. it's not so much that he just doesn't want to be there.

  • @mmthomas328 How can you say George looks miserable?.

He looks like someone who knew he wasn't going to be around very much longer, Maybe a little tired but you can see the peace in his face,I feel like this was sort of his last testament of his life,He was one of the best around
