I really care for this song. The woman who called us home for supper, my mother had a distinctive call for just us nine kids. It was like the whoop whoop of a whooping crane or somesuch. We knew it was just for us and we would be in hot water if we did not respond. Our call to Heaven has been answered by so many. YouTube and its ministers such as hoover4000 keep singers like George Younce, Jake Hess, Hovie Lister, Glenn Payne & more alive in our heats through You Tube. Thank you so much..
Still awesome words. Oh, that more Americans would look forward to going home at last. A 95 yr old woman died this week and went home, and this song was mentioned at her funeral. The Master called her, and she was ready. Are you ready?
My Great-Grandfather's last words were about this song he died in 1972, then over ten years later I was born and grew up to love this song. Southern Gospel transcends the years and generations. No one does this song like George!
@ladytxlove My memory of this song goes back to the funeral of Milburn "Doc" Stone, who played Dr. Adams in "Gunsmoke." As we came in the record was playing. His wife said he loved that song more than any other and wanted it for his funeral.
With tears streaming I listen to this beautiful song. I sang it in church many times in my childhood and now it means even more to me. God is so good..
Love hearing this song, it never get's old, brings so many childhood memories, along with tears. Would any of this group know a song I think "Titled: Who Will Work In My Fields? I'd love to get the word's, and hear it sung too; Many Thanks & God's Blessings to all;
@TheMoonlightrose , the song you asked about is called MY HOUSE IS FULL, if you type bbbryant10 in the you tube search, and than scroll down to my house is full you'll find it, I know it was a while ago you asked, but better late than never :)
my mom sit,s also at the table of the LORD, AMEN she died on oct the 13 th,i miss her very much, just to hear her voice,i miss ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,amen !!!
Halleluia to God be the Glory for this wonderful melody by a blessed pioneer of gospel song, oh what glory the heavenly choir resounds.......reminded me of a beautiful evangelist couple Brother & Sister Cole who blessed our New Zealand people in the 80's I believe they are singing with George in the heavenly choir....
I think this is one of my favorite groups from down through the years, starting with the original Blackwoods, and Statesmen! Thank you for putting them on!!
my 2 favorite groups are on here, the statemen and the cathedrals.. George sure can sing it and Hovie is wonderful at the keys. This is so moving and so touching I love it!!!
i remember when we were kids mother would have to tell us many times to come in and eat in the evening. We'd always want to stay out and play until it was completely dark. Oh my GOD how I miss her now. She went to be with GOD in September of last year 2007
Back in the 'late '50's, early '60's, I spent my summers with Grandmother and Grandaddy on their farm. When gospel radio preaching came on mid day, Granddaddy came out the field and he and Grandmother got on their knees and prayed and worshipped our Lord Jesus. Oral Roberts would close the hour by singing "Come Home Come Home it's Suppertime." Suppertime is almost here folks. Get Ready!!!!
@mmthomas328 How can you say George looks miserable?.
He looks like someone who knew he wasn't going to be around very much longer, Maybe a little tired but you can see the peace in his face,I feel like this was sort of his last testament of his life,He was one of the best around
I would love to hear my mom one more time say "It's Suppertime." I will meet her once again in Heaven at the GREATEST SUPPERTIME of them all. Thank You, JESUS! This month Mom will be gone 7 years. It seems like 50 years since I seen her!
When JESUS comes to the portals of GLORY and calls HIS children, we'll all being going home at last! That just makes me HOMESICK! What about you? Are you HOMESICK?
Ive been a great admirer of Southern Gospel singing for years and of George Younce and recently lost my dear Mother in June of this year and hadnt cried yet and when I listen to him sing this song it just bought tears of joy flowing because I know she home at last!!!!!Thank you for that great song and I know he and my Mother are having a time in glory!!!!
