Not a genuine German tank, Briselance is correct, it's a US M24 Chaffee with extra plates welded on to make it look like a Panzer mk 3. Still a great B movie though.
I seem to be like everybody else, I saw this movie on TV way back in the 60's when they used to show stuff like this in the morning on local stations. I'd completely forgotten it until recently; a true classic B movie.
I can remember this movie very well. It is a shame that it is not available. It is very close to Flight of the Phoenix movie but this one seems a little more realistic.
If anybody knows where one can aquire this movie on tape or dvd, let me know. It is the only movie that I loved as a kid that I have not been able to buy.
I remember them finding the tank although you never saw the dead German crew. They then stripped down the fuel line. They tried to start it to no avail. Then another gut starts the tank all because the first guy didn't have the ignition turned on. Don't ask me why I remembered that bit of the movie.
I saw this as a child in the sixties and never forgot it. I was recently able to purchase it on VHS from a company called "Movielead" on the internet; they have an arrangement with numerous film archives and can provide films to order even if they have never been officially released for home viewing. Whether you get VHS or DVD just depends on which technology the relevant archive has available.
Brilliant! Ive been searching for this film for 40 odd years. All I could remember that it was called The Treasure of ??? and starred Tab Hunter. Having found out that it was also called The Steel Lady, (The UK title was The Treasure of Kalifa), Ive thoroughly enjoyed seeing the clip and only wished that it was available on DVD/Video.

The poster might be better served if he contacted the previous poster directly. I'm trying to keep the number of posts down. Thanks.
