  • Damn...I wish I lived in an apartment where I could see stuff like this all the time!

    Very cool! :)

  • Station the maneuvering watch!!

  • Well not sure it's name, but its an Los Angeles class....probably one without VLS (Verticle Launch System) tubes. Those ones usually have the diving planes on the sail as we see here. The 688i boats generally have them on the bow. So its one of the older boats, just not sure on the name.

  • gay submarine!! looks like a dildo

  • @easy4323 ???? what are you like 2 years old? your a dildo.

  • Yeah, really ..... lucky bastard for getting to Pearl. I did two full tours on both coasts and never got there. That's one of the older 688 class boats. Toured the Dallas when in sub school in the early 80's but, never was stationed on one.

  • lmao, the coasties were following us :P them and their little dingy

  • that is one BAD looking machine

    love it

  • my tits are SO sore right now!!! :( 5

  • Too cold for me I went to Pearl Harbor - where it's warm! Thanks for posting this!

  • lucky bastard !!!

    : )

  • Stand corrected! The Railroad bridge is closed for repairs and the subs are going under the bridge

  • No markings.. OOS?

  • Glad you're a civilian shooting that, I know any sailor caught with pictures or anything from the lower base caught serious heat.

  • Thanks for the reply, actually that was taken from by back door when I lived on the river in groton, the city in the background is New London. It was an incredible place to live, sub's passed by almost daily - just an incredible site!

  • Nice; how far away are you from Paul's Pasta? First look I thought the video was taken from their patio.

  • LOL - My wife and I LOVE pauls! That video was actually taken from our back door when we lived on thames st. Just a hop and a skip from Pauls, It was 1 house over from Puffins. We loved living there until winter came, turned out that the apartment wasnt up to code and we totally FROZE! My wife ended up getting really sick after the pipes froze one day and we lost heat. Still, couldnt beat that view!

  • my fiance's base is in Groton,CT. I remember watching his sub prepare for deployment. He's on deployment now till august. Thanks for posting the vid. it made my day. =)

  • The railroad bridge must be raised. The sub will not fit under. I live in this area, see it all the time

  • Thats entirely not true. a boat will fit under the RR bridge as long as all masts and antennas are lowered. Went under many many times.

  • nice video, I remember going to Groton CT. as a kid to see the subs and was disapointed because the SSRN SEAVIEW was no there

  • Wow..great memories. I cant count how many times I have made that trip down the river. I must admit the trip you show is the Return trip. Much more fun. When we saw the I-95 bridge, we knew we were home! Thanks for the post!

  • I think the sounds make this video!

  • Good camera work. Has the essense of coastal sights and sounds in port New London, Connecticut. Great backstory potential for a movie, too.

  • why i the tug there

  • They will lower their scopes before going under the RR bridge. Plus they don't need them this far up the river. They just have to stay between the buoys.

  • My father works for General Dynamics and I've only seen 2 submarine launches but I can't remember the names.

  • Huh? Where are the scopes - are the Quartergaskets, oh sorry they are ETs now, are the Nav ETs not doing any visual navigation? Guess it's all by the DGPS now. My how things have changed in less than ten years..
