  • best song eve

  • I was trying to figure out what song this would be from reading he title - once I hear what song it was, it made sense... inventive and amusing titles fr "the Nobs" songs (I wonder if any descendants of the Zeppelin family ever listens to these on youtube haha)

  • guy at the beginning is hello there pop pickers Alan "fluff" Freeman famous radio disc jockey

  • who is the guy on the begining?

  • thts not percy thts robert plant smart one.

  • @90zosoman09 Thats roberts nickname

  • wow percys sounding rough here :(

  • he was rough after '72. had a good comeback in '77. Page did not want to cancel shows so he toured with the flu most of '75 damaging his vocal chords. By the 2nd or 3rd song he warmed up. Percy didn't believe in in pre show warm ups/ he preferred pre show blow jobs

  • Robert had the flue at the Earls court concerts.

  • Robert? Give your awesome voice a little break and drink some water because no offense to the vocal god, his vocals are outta shape here. I understand a long concert can do to ya so a short intermission for both the vocalist and the rest of the band can't hurt right?

  • listen to 3/21/75 prob the best zep show ever

  • This is the beginning of unstoppable metal machine! Give 'em a break guys, it's the beginning of a long show, and everybody has an extremely fresh buzz.

Zeppelin rules! Thanks for all the videos man!

  • Your euphemistic titles are hilarious! Igneous Like Material indeed.

  • wut year was this? and where was it performed?

  • 1975 Earl's Court

  • Hey it's rock 'n' roll and if you don't get it, you don't need to. Yeah, not every note is perfect, but I said it already "it's rock 'n' roll" the airship sure is moving fast and steady...keep on! If this does not work for you it's best to find something else 'cause it sure works for some of us!!! F*ck I'd give an arm and a leg could I have been there!!!

  • Oh, I see now, the film of a somewhat substandard Zeppelin....the song titles in a cryptic crossword style a la Daily Mail; clearly the work of a superior intellect...a wizard wheeze what? How serendipitous to have stumbled across this; must've taken you......ages.

  • Im a huge Robert Plant fan. and he has countless amazing vocal proformaces. but i have to say this is one of the worst. it pains me to amit that but its true. he does not do imself justice in this one

  • ooooooh wow

  • Rooooooooooock and ROOOOOOOOOOOOL #1

  • that clapping sounded like thunder

  • You couldn't have shared a better performance.

  • @chiachllc Fuck all wrong with that mate.

  • The "circus" was in town that night.

That dude that introduced them was a "_______"

    Saw a great fckin show.

  • Who the fuck was the yank introducing them? I had initially thought this was from Earl's Court.

  • This is Earls Court, the "yank" was Alan Freeman a DJ at the time that died in 1990

  • The audio sounds lik Madidson Square Garden.

  • gods of the rock n' roll

  • Greatest opener ever!!!

  • A thing worth looking at one day... The ZEP tour schedules. Night after night...three hour show +... song that you would think performed by Gods... superhuman feat...and the boys own admission of guilt... "...and though our health we drank a thousand times..it's time to ramble all..."

  • lol notice how 1:17 repeats itself

  • ... mixed a few vids ... got me dizzy

  • Why oh why couldn't Robert warm up a bit BEFORE the show?

  • dude, that wasn't his style.

  • it also wasn't his style for his voice to crack every 4 words.

  • well that's just the way he was. i'm not sure if he ever warmed up.

  • you'd probably know why his voice was bad if you read any of the comments below.

  • lol that answer isnt right at all...

  • Plant was nursing his worn out throat - still way better than anyone here could sing.

  • This vocal sucks.

  • agreed. first words he sings he cracks his voice.

  • He had the flu.

  • Nah just a cold the flu was in January.

  • Page = Mr SHOWMAN

    FU*K he kicks ass!!

  • DP (you chose the nickname , Doubly Penetrated), you´re right.

There was also the accident that broke his fingers back in the 70's.

  • will this ever be released on dvd

  • the intro guys pretty amazing!

  • He's called Alan Freeman, an Australian radio DJ who was well known on Radio 1 in the UK from the 60's to the 90's. He died a while back.

  • This is an awesome show though. :)

  • NO ONE LOOKS better playing a guitar, than page

  • Shadowman, i love you.

I really laugh at the name of the songs of The Nobs..."The tune maintains consistency"

  • plants voice completely fucked in 75 but really good in 68-73 and 77 and 79

  • naw in 75 plant had better more controlled vocals than in 73.. on this night plant was Exhausted.. it was the last concert of the tour and after a lot of yelling, its obviously exhausted.. in 73 though he had way more range but in 75 more controll and even more control in 77

  • 77,72,73 what ever if it's Page on Guitar I will take it! Also when you tour and work you voice like Plant did your bound to have some raw vocal chords...so think about it was anyone even close to them ever even now...you know the answer..no one is even close!

  • Plant's voice is weak here. He lost it after 72

  • He said in interview afterwards, he never warmed up, smoked and drank before shows. He had a nice comeback in '77, but for the high singing plant '72 was his final year. although I think he sand better, meaning choice of e4xpression in '75-77

  • Shadowman, you rock.

  • i have the audio for this. i didn't know the video was even around. thanks so much.

  • What a find!

  • Holy Crap!

Robert! dude! Have a spot of tea and a losange and come back later.

And Jimmy, put down the bottle of Jack before warm ups.

  • Yeah but thats always been there style though, slopiness is almost become jimmys trademark hes always been that way, and robert is known to have a raspy gritty voice thats just led zeppelin

No doubt there probaly shit faced here though

  • This is cool to watch for anyone who understands Led Zeppelin and knows what they could be like live, but most casual fans would think this was a train wreck. Robert had lost his high voice by this time and the guitar does not have the power it should, but still fun to watch.

  • very true, Robert coming back from throat surgery and fighting the flu almost the entire year up to this point damaged his voice so much and also he said he never warmed up. His voice clears up about 2:33, he lost his "voice" after '72. Jimmy peaked in '73. His playing is still better here than is was in '72 though.

  • I think Robert lost his higg voice for the most part after '72, but man he never used as much power as he did in '73 and he used his high voice to stretch some of those notes out like he never really did before (such volume and resonance! like at the end of TSRTS or Whole Lotta Love) ...

  • So to me, Robert lost much but made up for it in other exciting ways that he may not have done otherwise. And Jimmy, well, to me, '72 and '73 are a tie. He was more tight in '72, but more dangerous-sounding and genius in '73. Oh, and I meant to say "high" voice, not "higg", lol.

  • Oh and Jimmy also did some interesting things in '75 that he had not done before. There is a certain cadence to his playing that is really beautiful. I would still take his playing in '72 and '73 over '75, but you really see another dimension to his playing in '75. As for '77? Nah, don't like it. He was too gone on drugs, though he had his moments.

  • I play guitar and '72 is good but I put it there with '75 and I prefer '75 mainly because of the influence of '73 and he refined his playing to focus on delivery of his licks. If you do play guitar just listen again to '73, it blows away almost any guitarist. Its the best Jimmy and one of the best in history, i.e." No quarter '73 live, Dazed and confused '73, W.L.L. '73. His attack, technique and tone everything is just above the rest. They couldn't nail it like they did in '73 any other year.

  • You are right. I had nearly all of the shows from that year too - hsi genius even comes through the terrible quality bootlegs! His genius peaked in '73, but I think his playing on some of the How The West Was Won stuff is so clean and tight, like in the medley stuff he does on WLL. I just love when they played "Heloo Mary Lou" and others. But yah, man O man, in '73 he was the baddest, most raw, genius guitarist ever. And it was so effortless too!

  • He always had genius come through even when he was on heroin. Imagine if he stayed clean how Great he could have been

  • Yeah but it's really sad he wasn't clean though. Page was a good player, good guy, etc, but he really is a victim of hard drugs. He can't play like this anymore. Drugs did him in. Still a great composer, and producer though.

  • he can still play, check out the o2 footage, plus he's older...the body renews itself every 10-20 yrs = the heroin effect (if there ever was) is gone

  • Yeah. He's still fine, but not on the level he used to be.

  • he may be on a new level, but dont assume that this new level is lower than the old, maybe just a side step

  • I'm a huge Jimmy Page fan. His playing now, and even in '79 was nothing like his much more focused playing in '69-'73 and even in 75 he said in guitar world (or something like that) that his playing was rusty and not like before their two year hiatus. In fact sometimes he wouldn't even remember how it went and would go into a different song entirely. He's a great composer, and acoustic player, but drugs did a lot of his playing in.

  • Oh, and he quit playing for several years during his heroin addiction. What I'm saying is it affected his playing, not just his body.

  • I'm a huge fan of Zep and agree with zoso and danny, but haven't heard as many boots as they have. Even so, some of the stuff from the final tour, in '80, was also phenomenal. Take, for instance, the band's final performance ever (I believe...) of Achilles. They were playing in Germany. I just listened to it here on youtube a couple nights ago. Page and Jones lock in on the bends at the end as if they're fused as one, playing some sort of hybrid instrument that comprises both.

  • love this year 1975.

  • the best night of the tour I heard was 3/21/75, Seattle. It was one of their best EVER. It was like listening to Physical Graffiti

  • I like that show too, but my favorite 1975 show is Long Beach 3/11. I heard some of the Chicago 1/20 and they really seemed in great form.

  • that is one night I want to get the 3/11 show, yo have the complete concert?

  • Yep. There were other shows where they sounded just as good if not better, but for some reason the way they perform the songs, the things Robert says and everything ... it is just my personal favorite. I wish they were doing an acoustic set on that US tour, just like they did at Earl's Court. Even though in some ways they were beginning to decline in 75, they still had "it" to some extent ...

  • and also had something else that they did not have on earlier tours - something I can not quite put my finger on ... know what I mean???

  • lmao i love the geezer at the begging

    but LED ZEPPELIN! :):):):):)

    its magical!

  • The geezer at the beginning is a gay Australian DJ called Alan "Fluff" Freeman, who used to have a hard rock show on the BBC.

  • dont be hatin. at least u both like zepelin right?
