Hunn, Phil DOES donate money and he DOES raise awareness. Think of all the people who learned about whats going on because of him. Yeah he makes money off of it, but does that mean he's a bad guy? And if it does, I'm not sure what to think of people. I understand that you think its bad that he is getting paid for it, but I don't see it as a problem. Actors get paid and reporters do too, why cant phil?

I was not trying to start a fight with anyone, just trying to defend someone who started at the bottom just like you. There is no reason to be jealous or mad at Phil, if you don't like his show, don't watch it. I admire him for where he has gotten.

I don't know...I mean I understand where you're coming from but he actually reported on the situation very well. And when it comes down to it, that's what Phil is--a reporter. The end was a little contrived, but for the most part I think it was an informative, necessary video. The fact that he has ads on it, okay, seemingly not so selfless. However, if you watch the news on TV, or even on news websites, there are still commercials/ads.

He's a YouTube reporter. That's his job; he is employed by YouTube and sponsored by companies to add his special brand of humor to otherwise mundane news. Although doing one show pro bono wouldn't put him in dire financial straits, I can't blame him for wanting to get paid for just another day on the job...

I understand what you are saying, you make a good point. But, I don't see Phil having an ad any different than my local news station. All mediums of news media, including Phil, exploit the news in ways to gain views and money (via ads). It is just the way things work.
Sure, Phil could go without money from one video, but that would have made a difference either way for Japan

Honestly I completely disagree with you. Making videos is Phil's JOB. Just like any other reporter, he made money by reporting the news, and giving his opinion on something. He pays his bills with the money he makes on here, that is NO secret, just because he didn't give his paycheck today to relief funds does not mean he is a terrible person. He has bills to pay too.
