We left behind things called retroreflectors (pretty much mirrors that reflect back light to the position the light came from,) which, when a laser is pointed at them, return the laser and we can get that signal. @zzzcherryzzz Study how we walk. The usual model is the "inverted pendulum" and its behavior depends crucially on gravity. When we walk, we keep one foot on the ground at all times. But as you speed up, at some point that's no longer possible so you transition to a run when both feet can be off the ground at times. In the reduced gravity of the moon, this transition to a run happens at a much lower speed than on earth. That's why the astronauts seem to run even at low speeds.
As they walk though the sand and make little splashes of dust, that dust should NOT go down right away. It should float about some extra longer, slowly, ramdomly in the air. It's obvious that it's just normal footage on Earth slowed down.

@lapmarty The thermosphere is basically the limit of our technology. The earth is protected by a magnetic field that absorbs gamma, Xray and high frequency ultraviolet radiation. This field extends to about 250 miles in space once you go past that, radiation levels go way up and proper shielding would be necessary if you want the astronuts to return alive.

The cloth "blows up", regardless of the direction he faces. At 0:05, its flapping to the left. At 0:25, the astronaut has turned 180 degrees, and the cloth is flapping to the right. But as you speed up, at some point that's no longer possible so you transition to a run when both feet can be off the ground at times. In the reduced gravity of the moon, this transition to a run happens at a much lower speed than on earth. That's why the astronauts seem to run even at low speeds.

@lapmarty The thermosphere is basically the limit of our technology. The earth is protected by a magnetic field that absorbs gamma, Xray and high frequency ultraviolet radiation. This field extends to about 250 miles in space once you go past that, radiation levels go way up and proper shielding would be necessary if you want the astronuts to return alive.
