Truly God was having fun with Quincy.

  • ultimate storyteller...my hero..

  • You da Man Q !!

  • quincy would have told all this and more to michael jackson and michael would have been in awe and asked a million qs

  • It was the same with Oscar winning Music director Ar Rehman .. he had two choice in his life Love & hatred but he chose love....

  • What an inspiration this man is.

  • Music changed his life. He would have been a gangster. Kids today can learn from this man. DO something creative. Write a song, paint a picture, cook a meal or anything creative that helps people; don't do drugs or carry weapons.

    He is a living legend.

  • @skylarking z - That's just the way Quincy Jones speaks. You can reference other interviews - it's a combo of where he grew up, and how he carries his mouth

    :-)

  • Super bad ass! He sounds a little drunk, but it is amazing to hear this....QJ the best producer. MJ RIP.

  • He is not drunk just old and brain surgery did not help!

  • Wow! I could feel that testimony. Mercy!

  • If you want to hear something really modern, but written and recorded probably around 1960, it's Quincy Jones soundtrack to "The Pawnbroker", a devastating film about a man with memories of the war. As soon as it starts, you hear sounds you never heard before...Quincy, Mancini, and Miles were all of a mutual admiration society...

and if you are a serious musician, check out Mickey One, the soundtrack by Eddie Sauter, with solo's by Stan Getz. A milestone.

  • Does he have an autobiography? If not he should put all of that in a book, it would be great!

  • Yeah, he does have one. It is a good read. Every other chapter, he had people who knew him throughout his life write a chapter about him.

  • ya i'd deffinately buy it

  • The Lord has blessed Quincy Jones so much--we are far better off with him in the industry!

Although I believe Michael would have eventually made it in the industry as a solo vocalist, Quincy got the proverbial ball rolling at the perfect time in his career with two of the greatest albums ever made ["Off the Wall" and "Thriller"].

Thank God for Mr. Quincy Jones!

  • Great story Quincy (^.^)

  • Haha i love it when an old person tells a story.

  • Older...(You'll understand when you are his age)

  • I love the part about the splintered piano...

God works in mysterious and wonderful ways...

  • Madre de Dio. Q what a life!!!
