I have heard the female track sung by so many quality artists and they all bring something unique to this incredibly moving song. This one is no different... Peter Gabriel takes some risks and most of them pay off. I think this one is one of them.

I actually like this voice better than the original female voice. She doesn't have the odd high pitched tone that grates me wrong at times and sounds a bit soulful to me, which works wonderfully with the song...

Of course, that could just be me.

this song is like a conversation between married couple. A loving wife will not use a strong voice to build confidence in you. She will rather listen to your complains and whisper the words of encouragement right into your ear while gently caressing your head.

L'album è molto bello e arrangiato splendidamente!Alcuni pezzi a mio parere sono anche resi meglio di quanto non lo siano in album precedenti (vedi red rain). Altri invece come mercy street (che è in assoluto il mio preferito di tutta la discografia di gabriel) perdono rispetto alla versione di So, per la serie " non si può migliorare una cosa che è perfetta così com è".Resta comunque il fatto che questo album va comprato. La sfida sarà il prossimo però, non può coverizzarsi all'infinito ;)

Decisamente molto meglio questo nuovo "New blood", anche se si tratta di una trascrizione, splendidamente orchestrata di precedenti brani da altri album. Se penso a cosa aveva fatto con "Scratch my back" ... che è quasi una sequenza di marce funebri ... Spero con tutto il cuore che Peter Gabriel, artista, eccezionale, unico, enigmatico e da sempre ricco di sorprese "stilistiche", riacquisti l'ispirazione che ha affascinato milioni di ascoltatori come il sottoscritto !!!
