The president's bus tour only stopped in white communities because he has lost significant support among white voters: with independents especially, but some Demorcrats too.
Black Americans staunchly support him so he takes their vote for granted, even though unemployment among black men has jumped to about 19%--much higher than the national morm. They may grumble but, come election day 2012, they'll all come home in the stretch.
