You'd want to turn the shirt inside out.

Eventually the photo or design will crack or flake though.

The paper is not on the shirt when you wash it. You iron on the image then remove the paper before washing, and if you followed the process correctly the image will stay.

@summrandtaylr no that's the liner on the back of the paper if you buy this you will find most times one side of the paper is white and onside has a square pattern so you can tell which side to print on (never print on the liner)

@CircusOfTheStars1 It depends on the quality of the sheet. I bought these sample packs and tried a few and I only found one that was good. I printed the shirt and did 3 test wash in hot water and it faded a little but did not peel off and the print was smoother and softer and it stretched with the fabric.

@rickpat67 I've done a few tshirts this way and 5 yrs later still wearing them... I suggest hand wash and hang dry. I've washed mine like a million times and there are a few cracks, but still decent to wear

It's iron-on paper that you can buy in Staples or Office Max. You need an inkjet printer for it, and it doesn't last long.

Also, the colors aren't very bright.
