Hi, I got a 5m beamer.. i weigh 11stone, use the handles first, far more control with them.. I took mine out in 30 mph wind the other day, tried to show off and got thrown 15ft in the air for about 30meters down the field..
Awesome flying, I wish I could fly like that! I'm moving up in kite size and looking at all the options available. I was planning on buying a large kite(4-5m) to have some fun. I was looking at the Ozone Flow 5 or the Beamer IV 5m. I'm thinking of going with the Beamer, looks like fun and slightly cheaper. What do you recommend? Thanks in advance and keep kiting!!
Thanks! ....... don't worry, you will in no time at all :)
Both the Ozone & Beamer ate excellent kites. That been said, I find the Beamer to handle better at the edge of the wind window and somewhat easier to fly.
If I was learning, I would go for the 3m Beamer myself like I have, which you can fly in winds from 4mph up to 25mph approximately. If you fly in very low winds (below 10mph) the 5m would be ideal.
Ideally it would be great to have 2 or 3 sizes of kites for all wind conditions. In low winds around 5mph, a 5m kite will easily get you to jump and scud. A 3m kite like mine will be great for higher winds around 20mph and a 4m kite for in between winds.
Beamers are GREAT kites, reasonably priced and very stable right to the edge of the window.
I'm getting one of these, i've got a flexifoil big buzz at the moment and i use it on a land board in good winds, but am thinking of a bigger kite with alot more pull and with 4 lines.
I've got a Beamer III 3.0m as well and they are great kites, very easy to control, great kite for learning on as well, I use mine for static flying and land boarding and its great fun.
These are really great foils and very easy to fly. This 3m has very strong pull in the higher wind range and can drag you across the ground without any problem. (This kite has pulled me off my feet on occasion & I've landed on my face lol) That been said, it's an excellent trainer power kite and is very docile in and very manageable in light winds.
nice kite but for kids ^^ i had it 3 times and then i wanted more :D bigger and powerbar

You can't go wrong! It's a GREAT kite and very easy to fly in all wind conditions although it can be quite a handful with winds over 20mph :)
Good Luck and congrats on your decision to buy this remarkable kite.

I have a 5m quad can someone please tell me how you make them turn left to right, mine keeps spining in a circles.

Make sure your lines are exactly the same length.
If they are the same length and you hold the handles the same distance in front of you, the kite should fly straight.
To turn the kite you need to PULL one of the handles towards you to initiate the turn. The kite will turn in the direction the line is been pulled.
