I'm pretty prudish when it comes to the use of intoxicants, however @LeeCamp is making a strong argument. The best I saw for legalizing pot was that Nicotine inhibits enzymes that naturally fight cancer, but the THC in pot promotes the same enzymes that nicotine inhibits. Intoxication to an extreme that rationality is lost is THE problem. We have laws against public intoxication, so enforce them strictly and subject the smoking of it to the Clean Air Act. All done.

With the amount of benefits from cannabis, bigpharma would go out of business. Remember, if you aren't sick, they wouldn't make profits. Shit! Cannabis has been used for thousands of years as medicine and has been proven to CURE CANCER.

Go watch the documentaries "Run from the cure", "The Union" and "American drug war" ....also do a simple search of tests and studies conducted at well known universities....It's all there.

It's not a gateway drug. I've smoked pot 27 years (since I was 15) and have never done any other drug but acid or shrooms a few times. "Gateway" is just another word they use to scare the sheeple. Besides, pot is a natural herb (like shrooms). I'm smoking a bowl right now! PUFF PUFF PASS!

The marijuana vs beer idea doesn't even work. Alcohol is addictive... highly. It won't even work with tobacco for the same reason. Caffeine? Forget it. Mind you, I don't smoke MJ. I get too screwed up too quick and watch cartoons for hours. I would love to use it as incense though, I LOVE the smell. Ceder works in a pinch, but it's just not the same.
