Well not really. It has to be a dissociation to camcorder. If they boost the fps there's no difference anymore and then they have to pay more to be accredit as a official photographer in the stadion.

they need 2 digic 3's to make 10fps at 10mp

the 1d mark 2 uses 1 digic 2 and dose 8.3 fps and 8.3 mp

You'r right. Of course it could be faster but there is a limit in football stadions at least in europe 10fps.
