  • This might be my favourite scene from the first series! But I enjoy all the episodes!

  • Very funny

  • roasted behinds! lol

  • the current archbishop of cantebury is also Rowan

  • My son !! - Father !!!

    Father !! - My son...

  • It's neat to see him have some level of success.

  • Hihahahahaha hihahahahah god make me stop laughhiahahiahiahiah please hahahahahahaha this is so funny ahhahahahhahh PLEASE sto hahahahahah so funny hahahah... oh god, this series is awesome.

  • why is blackadder such a stupid coward in the first show... and such a smart guy in the other shows... i personally love the smart above te stupid :p

  • @nevertrusasmurf But this is the first show, and he's not stupid here, is he? :s

  • @toreswe did you saw the other shows? :p blackadder is fokkin intelligent and not a real big coward but here he is stupid and a big coward plus baldrick is smart here and in the other shows he is as stupid ass hell lol ;p

  • @nevertrusasmurf Blackadder and Baldrick slowly switched positions as the show went on. Blackadder got smarter and Baldrick got dumber.

Possible theory is that the future Blackadders were descended from the original Baldrick, and the Baldricks are descended from the first Blackadder.

  • @ShadowSonic2 Baldrick is not really dumb, i would say he is ignorant of some facts and stays simple in his behavior toward other people

  • @ABW941 He was smart in the first Blackadder, and was they way you described for the 2nd. But the 3rd and 4th Baldricks were truly dumb guys.

  • @ShadowSonic2 I would say they were resistant to knowledge of all kind.

3 and 4 had bright moments.

  • @pseudonym4yt Not one of his finer works I´d say - I much more prefer "The German Guns"; Boom boom boom boom, Boom boom boom, Boom boom - boom boom, Boom boom boom.

  • 2 people have gone to hell where the air is pungent with the aroma of roasted behinds.

  • @pseudonym4yt that's true

  • look at the statistics...does that meen im the only teenage girl into these?? no wonder people think im weird XD

  • @xXTheDarkLemonXx No you are not weird, you just like good comedy... the rest of us is here because of nostalgic feelings and the inability to stop laughing about jokes which are nearly 30 years old.

Its the same with Monty Pythons... damn i love that surgeon-gumby sketch :-)

  • @ABW941 i love that too! that show is amazing! and old red dwarf too! XD and i think i like being into this sort of thing they are great, and people are really missing out!

  • ...and you are not Satan?

No, I'm the Archbishop of Cantebry.

  • Is it just me that was laughing my ass off subliminaly when Edmund was resuscitating the Lord dude?

  • "EH!!" *Points* ... *Dies* Me: *Chuckles for five minutes.*

  • This is the perfect PERFET demonstration of the catholic methods during the dark ages, the bishops indeed used faith as an economic weapon most of all they used fear of hell to control peasants and the uneducated majority of the population and ofcourse the aristocracy, THIS SI THE TRUE FACE OF THE CHURCH Christ was correct about them his own church is corrupted more than the ravins corrupted the temple of Solomon it is the same old practice.

  • @NEMESIS1999 what i dont get is how can churces say a rich man cant go to heaven if they re one of the richest empires to date

  • Who is the angry guy with the sword & armour?

  • @MrPmj1979 The fictional Richard IV. Played by the none fictional but legendary Brian Blessed!

  • I am a Christian who just realized how utterly realistic and un-exagerrated this sketch is. :-( Was there ever a time in all of history when the Church was truly a source of moral superiority?

Jesus is the relationship, Christianity is the religion.

  • @MrPmj1979 This comment is rather interesting. What is it exactly that you are asking? Your final sentences make little sense in relation to your earlier comments.

  • @MrPmj1979 yes ...when the romans feed christians to the lions ...then they where a source of moral superiority ... later on ...not really ....power corupts ....

  • @RegiusCruor i think the reall problem is the arrogant human race, thinking their above all other life. which is foolish and poor sighted. faiths are just one way of thinking, blind and narrow.

  • @MrPmj1979

religion can easily be used as a weapon and a way to control people and it was and still is.

  • @WasLilChrisnowbigish Yes, that's true. All the more reason to not let religion become an idol, if you know what I mean.

  • I've committed adultery

    Who hasn't?

    More than a 1000 times

    Well it is 1487...

    lol

  • "watering potplants"

  • This first season was way too stupid :/

Glad the BBC cut the production costs and went in the direction they did with the 2nd series, from then on, absolutely fantastic. The greatest comedy us brits have ever made, especially the 4th.

  • @BobTheGamerUK

seasons 1,3 and 4 were awesome

    season 2 was shite.

  • @Zekkandgrant13 Blasphemy! Heresy! Hell, where devils prick your arse with tiny forks awaits thee! LOL.

  • god I´m in love with this series.

  • Eternity worshiping god? No thanks.

  • "My son! Father! Father! My son' The delicious irony.

  • @Hotshotter3000 Please explain the irony to me so I can get it. Thank you!

  • @dancesonpoles Priests are generally referred to as 'father' and they call people their 'sons'. The irony here is that even though the King is Edmund's father, he has to call his son 'father' and Edmund has to call him 'my son'. The whole thing is switched around in a hilarious way.

  • @Hotshotter3000 Ahh, okay now I get it. Thank you for clearing that up.

  • I kill the pair of you, I'll abolish the church (:

  • "Alas! Spare my posteriour!"

  • Is that Brian Blessed? :DDDD <3

  • @AeonofOblivion YES! YES!!!!

  • @AeonofOblivion yuppers

  • Haha, best part must be where he says hell is for people who like adultery, pillage and... torture. He looks soooooo satisfied when he says it ;D

  • Hell is for the people that like other sorts of things :)

  • The first series of Blackadder is seriously underrated. Brian Blessed is fantastic in it.

  • @musicsnobtobe It's hardly underrated, while there are some funny moments, I just don't like the protagonist being treated like garbage and is such a loser in life.

  • @Guanchen He does start off as absolutely loathsome that's true. The first time I saw some of the first series I was really put off by the fact that not only was Prince Edmund a coward and an opportunist like in all subsequent series, who mistreated his servants and his friends, but also snivelly, weak, and stupid. But watch the episodes in order and it's interesting watching him develop. He does become more cunning as the series goes on.

  • "My son!"

    -"Father!"

    "Father!"

    -"My son!"

    LMAO

  • i think the funniest black adder is the medieval one. right?

  • @hanoisara All of them have their moments

  • The end of that is brilliant! A great piece of comedy, turning roles around.

  • - i murdered my father!

    - I know how you feel...

    XD

  • more than a thousand times!

    well it IS 1487.

    with my mother.

  • "Am I in paradise?"

    "No, not yet."

    "Then this must be hell!"

  • i love this scene

  • oh my.... I love this show haha
