  • Tina rocks... but Ike was a musical genius... I liked their style better than her on her own... I don't agree with his behaviour, musically... she became too commercial after leaving him. He knew how to bring out the best in her... and I'd say she knew how to bring out the worst in him.

  • the 7" of this is incredible with Part 2 on b-side. BRILLIANT !!!

  • Gawd I love this woman!! Why can't we have women like that anymore? With soul and feeling!

  • I wish people will stop comparing Beyonce to Tina Turner. Beyonce will never be on her level of excitement when it comes to music. Tina Turner is a legend. I dont see an ounce of similarities between them, and don't want to.

  • Fantastic!! Wonderful!! Incredible!!

  • She looks like a smurfette

  • OM DAMN! Ancient Incredible Tina Video!!!! Blow me away!

  • Amazing performance by two of the world best musicians. Ike haters should not listen to any of his and Tina's recording. The man was a musical genius. I'm not condoning domesic abuse but to many people take the film 'Whats love got to do with it' as the truth rather than than the pack of lie that it is. Personally I dont see Tina as a weak woman who would just sit there and take abuse plus Larry Fishburn is about 9" & 100lb bigger than Ike.

  • When it got to 2:47 I'm Like...."that totally boosted my high....!!!!!

  • Amazing Amazing Amazing - I've loved Tina since 1970 - what a woman - nobody can dance and sing like Tina - no-one comes close.

  • Sorry anyone that thinks Beyonce is even in the same category or level as Tina Turner is sadly mistaken! Tina is raw gritty pain in her voice alone and that's what makes her so angelic and special. Beyonce has'nt had any songs that make u go wow! Tina obviously does, people give Beyonce way too much credit, when she is just a stage act, like a pop show, nothing to ever leave u speechless. I think if anyone after Tina in our generation that should even be compared to Tina is MAry J blige.

  • @curegurl724 haha since when did mary j blige was on on tinas level??? never!!! I suggest you stop trying to diss beyonce just to uplift mary j tired behind because the only performer/singer of our time who comes close to Tina Turner is really Beyonce but sorry basterds like yourself hate to admit it!!

  • i'll be `100% honest. i hate feminists, i really hate the concept of quotas and the obama-like notions of mandating that X% of females should be corporate ceo's, etc.

with that being said i do not believe women are any less talented than men (which is why i don't think they need affirmative action).

tina turner proves that. at the time of this video, she was the best singer/frontperson who ever lived. sorry james brown, tina had twice the soul you did... she is the monarch of soul!!!!!!!

  • Her arms are so toned! And no one worked out in those days. It was great. Guess her stage performances gave her a workout.

  • And do you see the GUNS on Tina?

  • @BenKarbie do you know what year this is?

  • @monicalups 1965

  • 2 ppl are as dry as that boy in the audience.

  • how great is this what a voice she is simply the best

  • All I can say is, OUTSTANDING!

  • It must be her Native American blood--just like Elvis.

  • GOD made this Great LADY with HIS own hand

  • Damn they rocked!!!

Sometimes it sux to be born in the 70's. I really wish I'd been around for all that raw energy going on. =)

  • Did anybody else catch TINA TURNER'S MOON WALK @ 1:15???

  • She's great, but she ain't James...

  • @gmandofgod - I agree. And the idiots that put parts of the TAMI Show and this show together years ago put this version of 'Please Please Please' in and left Mr. Brown's much better performance out!

  • Is this on Shindig ??

  • I wish someone would post the studio recording...it is best of all.

  • Who told him to come to the front? 2:28.....lol

  • genius. tina, i wish you had'a called me. haha!

  • fan-fcking-tastic

  • DOPE

  • God like..

  • my God, I wish I could go wild just like Tina and the Ikettes in the end, SO COOL!

  • her performances always included great foot work

  • Fabuolus,

IDo you think all those girls are screaming because they are sharing the Black experience, or because they were told too?

  • This version of Goodbye, So Long is one of the greatest things I've ever heard.

  • Yep...that performance of that song is the best thing Ike and Tina EVER did...and that's saying alot!

  • i really agree with you here! I saw a clip of cher and tina on ET with oprah. On it they showed a really, really short clip of her singing Shake by Sam cooke. I can't find it anywhere???!!!

  • @colby82 look up 'ike and tina turner big TNT show' from alecsmith.

  • Oh what a thrill.. :-)

  • Just listened to James version which I love, but I'm getting chills here.

  • This woman is the shit!! there is no other word to describe her I love you.

  • JB smiles!!!

  • Dance Tina Dance!

  • the dance break at 2:50 is simply amazing! i'd like to see britney spears break it down like that with such wild abandon! go 'head ike and tina!

  • Indeed!

  • That's the type of live performance where the people who were lucky enough to have been there have probably said to their children (and grandchildren!), "Let me tell you about this show I saw a long time ago where Tina Turner proceeded to...."

  • this is right up there with MJ, but when Tina dies (hopefully not for a LONG LONG time cus she's still got at least 50 years in her), they will never talk about tina all over... she NEVER got the credit the credit she deserved... she transcended gender and race before anyone else!

  • I think you are right, she changed what we imagine a female performer can do onstage. In the early 1960s mainstream America had not seen a woman sound and move so powerfully.

  • @tt247jer Definately up there with MJ :) I don't like to think about her death :( But I think when that dreadful day comes millions will be mortified and I know a lot of tribute will be paid to her....she's the Queen!

  • This is what you call true star power right here. The woman is absolutely dazzling. When she dances & the Ikettes show up, youre watching no one but Tina. Theyre tryna keep up but she is running circles around them. Nowadays when "the star" dances w/ the background dancers, its clear whos doing most of the work & its usually not the "star". My God I love this woman.

  • Too bad they didn't shut the hell up during the performance.

  • my gosh this woman should've been crowned the Queen of soul instead of Aretha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • she is the queen of rock and roll and soul!

  • YES !! So deeply real, authentic and about something. Baby Please Please Please. thanks for the posting.

  • man Tina was about 27 yrs old wen she did this and still non of these artist thats is in their 20's can move like Tina

She proved in this performance that nobody can do it like her no matter how hard they try they just dont have the "IT" thing that Tina has

  • This song, please please please, proves that Tina Turner was the best female singer ever.

  • this is tina with a REAL rock & roll band!

  • i dont think that they requested screaming, i think the people were fans and they were just excited. ikd. if so that was a dumb ass request.

  • SANG GURL

  • I find it funny that anyone thought that they had to request all the screaming at this show...shit I woulda been sreaming like a girl my damn self!!!

  • I would cut a finger off to be at that show! She makes Wilson Picket sound like a school girl. Every song from this show is a killer..damn she was on that night! Fantastic post!!! Thanks so much BenKarbie!!

  • Queen bee has some mighty foot work!

  • I see why Beyonce want to follow after her steps!! This video proves why!

  • I agree, the only thing is Beyonce will NEVER come close to Tina. As hard as she tries, Beyonce just doesn't have the range in her voice or the stage presence of Tina.

Nobody has the stage presence of Tina.

  • @blueeyes237 I love old school, but to me Beyonce is better than Tina. Beyonce is old school in 2011. Her 'Crazy In Love', with the James Brown horns and rhythm is pure soul.

  • @blueeyes237 I wouldnt come on here and tell such a lie if i were you!!!! Thats far from the truth!!! Tina Turner even mentioned Beyonce as the best so shut it up!!

  • @blueeyes237 I completely agree with you. But Beyonce is much better looking.

  • They should just keep showing this stuff on TV until someone comes up with something that's as good. I just went hoarse trying to sing along!

  • good god...sex on legs! Amazing performance. I think I know why they are screaming.

  • Yeah!

  • Sheesh....Show stopeers for sure!!!

  • wow this is great, how come we dont get to see this stuff on tv now??

  • Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys described her as Dancing With Fire Under Her Feet the first time he saw her perform. Even James Brown gave her props in his Autobiography. This performance proves why.

  • They were gettin it especially at the end.

  • Wow, Had no idea that she had ever performed these. GREAT...WORKING OUT. Thanks soooo mch for sharing this.

  • This clip always leaves me EXHAUSTED!!!

    Fantastic!!

  • This is a great performance, but whoever came up with the idea of having the screaming girls go constantly through the performance should be shot!

  • One in a million performance.

  • I LOVE TINA !

  • No other woman got down like this before, back then, and since. Amazing...

  • don't delete this O.O this is like so amazing!

    man how the years change.
