In retrospect I think Nasser got robbed at Mr. O in 97. Yates probably won because of momentum of previous years. Nasser's biceps look twice as good as Yates. Overall symmetry looks better. I understand there is quite a bit of politics in bodybuilding world as well.

I agree with you and everyone who's replied to this post. Many people call Shawn Ray a crybaby, but he IS right. Mr.O judges should rotate each year of each few years to keep it a bit more objective and have purely awesome bodybuilders like Levrone or Flex have their full right.
Shawn Ray was as close to PERFECT as Ive ever seen on a bodybuilding stage in 99. Yet he doesnt even finish in the top 2! Too many gifts and joke titles. Flex never won and I agree with that because he had too many weak points (legs, lower back and overall back size) How about the uncrowned Olympia list. Menzter in 79, Padilla in 81, Zane in 82. LABRADA in 90, Nasser in 97, Ray in 99, Cutler in 01, Martinez in 07! Padilla, Labrada, Culter, and Martinez being the CLEAR OBVIOUS winners.

Unfortunately, back then the back muscle was deciding factor. It's how Haney, Dorian, and Coleman won. But Nasser should've won the Mr. O 3x's
