@orinanime How did you get to interview him and did you get a bite to eat afterwards?

I didn't get a bite to eat until way later that day.

And I got the interview by checking with his handler and the press people. You have to be at the Convention as a member of the press (with a press badge and all that).

@orinanime what is a handler and what do they do? Oh so you were press? Do you have an aftra card or something like that to be on screen? did you hang out with him

a handler is what they call the staff member assigned to help them out and get them oriented at the convention. also, they're the person who sets up the schedule/itinerary for all the stuff the celebrity/guest as to do.

so, you schedule the interview with them.

I don't know what an aftra card is.

I chilled with him a few hours. while he was signing autographs and being super sweet to all his fans.

he's the nicest guy. and he'll bend over backwards to make you happy.

I don't know what he would or would not sign.

Most people I've talked to don't respond to people on Twitter.

Twitter is more or less just a place for people to broadcast, not actually communicate.

nah, we chilled before the interview. not after.

but before was just the usual stuff. Like how's your day going, how's your time been at the Con? whatcha been up to? how has it been meeting all the fans? that sort of stuff.

I have no idea. None of the actual channels in the entertainment industry work. it's all about luck and perseverance.

I got the job by pure luck of the draw. I was in the right place at the right time. I got to keep the job by doing good work.

I got to interview him, by just being at the convention, and asking his handler if we could do an interview.

@orinanime why do you say its luck and how much does one get paid for that like the average amount? How did you know which questions to ask him? Like are you bisexual or something. or does the questions have to relate to the show? how does one become like Ted Koppel

I don't get paid. It's an unpaid gig. To gain experience, and add to a good looking work history for future employment opportunities.

I knew what questions to ask by researching him, and learning as much as I could about him, and deciding what topics might be most interesting to discuss.

What does my sexual preference have to do with anything?

I don't know how one becomes like Ted Koppel.

I got asked by someone to write for a magazine.

That's what I mean by I got lucky.

And when you're a press member at a convention, you're allowed to set up interviews, by talking to the celebrity handlers.

So, I talked to Sam's handler.

and

I didn't ask him what his sexuality is.

Yes. Good writing skills are needed.

Handlers, from what I understand, help them find their way around the huge convention, and help them keep track of their schedule.
