  • I am from Cleveland, Ohio and am old enough to remember being able to smell Pittsburgh from far away! I had friends move there in the '80s from "sophisiticated" cities such as NYC and loved it! I live in Paris, France now and do a lot of clips on life over here in Europe.

  • Your videos on Pittsburgh inspired me to make a stop there on my way out to the east coast from Chicago. I was not disappointed, as I feel Pittsburgh might be this country's hidden gem of a city! Thank you for all of your videos!

  • @ScenicRoadTrip: Thank you for your kind comments. That's exactly the idea: to inspire others to visit places they haven't seen yet. Glad you liked Pittsburgh - it's an underrated gem in many ways. Have a great day...

  • I do not really dislike it ! but there isn't a "middle of the road" option. I think Pittsburgh is overrated. It was the "Steel Capital of the World " at one point but no much of that splendor remains... where are the industrialists now? Shame on them.. they should have contributed to Pittsburgh much much more.

  • I have some videos of the elevators in some historic building in pittsburgh, like union trust building, Koppers, and Oliver tower

  • ask how many carnegie mellon students STAY in shitsburgh after graduation? virtually ZERO! there are no jobs in shitsburgh! (unless you want to make $10/hr)

  • Things are so bad here in Flint MI I'd take ten dollars an hour. And I moved from Pittsburgh in 1966.

  • @walterswalk You seem to be overwrought. Deep breaths, sir.

  • historic bldgs in shitsburgh is an oxymoron! EVERY building in shitsburgh is historic. america's largest nursing home=shitsburgh. (last skyscraper built=1990!) oh, and the fucking city is BANKRUPT! great job yinzers!

  • there is some more historic buildings, Gulf tower, Koppers building, macys, Henry Frick building fedirated Union trust, William penn hotel, and more

  • It breaks my heart that they are going to take down the civic arena. It is such an iconic structure in Pittsburgh. PLUS, it is the FIRST retractable structure in the US if not the world.

  • I went to so many concerts there in the late 70's early 80's, sad to see it go. :(

  • Pittsburgh is a city that has transformed itsef from its smokey industrial past to a world class ciy. There is tremendous growth in the city with hotel, office and condo development. The city is a financial, educational, health, corporate and cultural center. If you have never been to this amazing city it is worth taking a look at. Come visit One of America's Great Cities, who knows you may make it your new home.

  • This is without question one of The Greatest Cities in America. If you have not visited Pittsburgh yet, you are missing a lot. Come to America's Best Kept Secret, you just may make it your home.

  • Cool!! I love seeing my hometown!! Although, that would be Smithfield Street, not "Roberts".

  • That was actually the intersection of Forbes and Wood, not Roberts or Smithfield.

  • Queer as Folk city! *-*

  • yea. but the one in the tv show is a fictional pittsburgh. not the actual pittsburgh.

  • Really?

  • i think so lol. i only watched maybe 4 ep's of the show and the back drop doesn't look anything like the actual pittsburgh itself. but i could be wrong.

  • =)

One day, I 'll go to visit Pittsburg!

I want to see the disco that in Queer as Folk is called "Babylon" xD

  • Thank God they saved some historic buildings instead of plowing them all under.

  • They still got rid of a crap load of Historically important structures.. Its really sad..

  • This short clip of Downtown Pittsburgh reminded me of how much I miss being in Pittsburgh and how much I hope to return back soon. Personally to me Pittsburgh is the best city, where else can you have big city stuff and small town comfort in the same area.

  • If you look to the left of the Roberts Building (which is shown a couple times) you will see the "Skinny Building". The black building is actually a separate building from the Roberts building and is arguably the skinniest building in North America being only 5'5" wide. (A building in Canada has a skinnier second floor but wider first floor and also has balconies).

  • wow...it looks interesting...not at all how I imagined the state the "Pennsylvana Dutch"live in.Too bad there arent any videos of Curtisville. Thanks for sharing.

  • The "Pennsylvania Dutch" live on the other side of the state.

  • @7soccermom No they don't. They live all over Pennsylvania. I grew up among the Amish..and I live in Western PA

  • yes, pittsburgh has an amazing amount of classic urban architecture, not only in DOwntown but also in Squirrel HIll, Oakland, and Shadyside. for architecture and green areas, its one of the best cities in the US. DOwntown needs a scrubbing, and a post-5PM pulse as well.
