  • MarioSonic... "It kind of reminds me of the 1994 Division Bell Tour" Are attempting to be funny or

insulting ? 1 minute of the Floyd tours of the 70's is more powerful than all the post Waters tours combined. We all know this so deal with it !

  • With good speakers and bass, a buzz, loudly played, and some patience and you will hear one of the best things in the world.

  • This kind of reminds me of the 1994 Division Bell tour.

  • @MarioSonic2010 really? how so?

  • just I wish I was there

  • 4:35 Susunukuu?

  • Ups 4:04

  • Saw Pink Floyd ROCK the stadium at the very first Texas Jam, 1981 I believe it was, There will never be another concert like that... That was back when the radio station |The Zew.. KZEW 92.5 gave away the concert tickets as a blood drive... wow!!! what a time that was... the whole event was an experience this generation will never get to be a part of... what a shame!!! Thanks For the Memory..

  • 5 PERSONAS QUE NO TIENEN IDEA DE NADA!!!!!!

  • hehehe I just drooled. I'm not kidding, every time I listen to Pink Floyd my mouth hangs gently open as if I am trying to eat the music and digest it into my soul. The only music in the world to ever make me feel this way, and I love a lot of music. We miss you Richard.

  • Did they use Theremin in this song? :O

  • @pecne Fuck I'm so stupid. I thought this is a Theremin on the picture, but it's slide guitar :D :D

  • I totally dig Roger Waters, I don't want this comment to be taken as anti-Waters... but why he didn't just let David sing this one? His vocal performance is not as good as David could do. Awesome treasure, by the way...

  • @elrockero Well said. I totally agree. Waters' voice is one of the most sumptuous in music. His vocal deliveries on Animals are absolutely brilliant. Listen to Sheep and that solo in Pigs. But on this it would have been so fitting to have maybe one verse by Gilmour, one by Wright and one by Waters. It would have been a novelty to have a song with all 3 taking the lead and it would have been a more fitting tribute to Barrett as they all missed him, surely.

  • @VivaZeBone thats a good idea..switching off on the vocals between the three would have made it more interesting.

  • Can someone identify the instrument at 2.00 before D>G's solo? This is an amazing performance of "shine on"

  • @mrgrtbfrd Rick Wright's Keyboards?

  • @pinkrudy Really? via synthesizer? Sounds like a brass-flute hybrid. really they have been such a game-changer for music. I love this keyboard sound. I have been listening to them for 45 years now.

  • @mrgrtbfrd it's moog, dude

  • @sheiffa Hey my man a moog synthesizer is what it is.

  • @sheiffa no, it's a kazoo.

  • @mrgrtbfrd Farfalle keyboard!

  • @mrgrtbfrd Maybe glass tubes spun, and resonated. They did ti alot. Gilmour in his Island tour.

  • @mrgrtbfrd Possibly a mellotron - RW used it quite a bit, amongst other synths.

  • please..SHOW VIDEOS

  • @photogramistic i wish...everyone is praying :P

  • @photogramistic sadly there is virtually no film footage of the 1977 tour, and that which does exist is often poor quality super 8mm stock. Pink Floyd at this time were very anti-media/anti-public exposure so it follows that they did all they could to avoid being recorded live.

  • Its also posted on youtube... punch in.... pink floyd oakland 1977 check it out.

  • @timray5103 that oakland concert seems a little too laid back imo... gilmour was more energetic in boston and MSG shows..

  • The Oakland concert was May 9th 1977

  • Some guy just had the oakland dvd and cd for sale about a week ago 1/09/12 that sold for $77.00 .

  • Gilmour just knows how to play, Move emotions by bent strings.

  • the best of the best

  • oh man it´s so beautiful!

  • definitely would buy both this live concert album but the dvd if it ever became available. Hint, hint David I know you are listening somewhere.....

  • ashton kutcher?

  • @9reasy5am bite thy tounge

  • Somebody sell me a bootleg of this show!!!

  • @FrederickHamilton Have you ever heard of "Tube Bootlegs"? I don't know how reliable they are, they are on FB. They should have it. Let me know if you buy it.

  • @FrederickHamilton - you don't have to pay for it - just download it for free - i must have 7 or 8 bootlegs from this tour - i recommend animal instincts from oakland for the best sound quality, but they're all decent - the show in Munich, Jan 1977 is also very, very good (especially Dogs)

  • i like ricks trilling in the 1st part

  • yep, saw all them shows too. must have been high

  • Are there any CD's released of their live shows in the 70's? Anyone got a recommendation for the best one?

  • @mattmossop if you get dark side of the moon experience version on amazon..its has 2nd set of nov 16,1974..

if you get wish you were here experience version from amazon also... you get the 1st set of nov 16,1974...

all other recordings from the 70's will be bootlegs.

  • @pinkrudy Thanks so much

  • i was there that night, still the best floyd show i have ever seen!! i saw them in 75 and they actually played sheep and dogs, you can find them on this page actually, raving and drooling, and youve got to be crazy, but the song that just blew my mind was welcome to the machine, the live recordings just cant do it justice!!

  • @MrPlooky shine on you crazy diamond wasn't played at 1980 wall shows...you sure it wasnt 1987,1988, or 1989 that you went to?

  • Nice T-shirt too! :)

  • It seems like Gilmour improvised with his solos a lot more in the 70s than he did in the 80s and 90s.

  • @zdlore1985 OMG definitely... he stopped improvising when the wall came out...but everything before(1970-1977) he is always showing off.

that cookie cutter garbage he plays on pulse and live in gdansk is good but he lost his edge(balls)...

  • @pinkrudy He still improvised some in the later years but he would start solos out the same way and some he played almost not for note like Shine On and the first solo on Comfortably Numb. I've heard him say in interviews that he starts solos off the same way for fans, and then he will improvise but if it isn't sounding that great he will revert to some of his classic licks. I think he tries to find a balance. Actually on his On an Island tour he improvised much more than on Pulse.

  • @zdlore1985 i mean yea he improvises.. but all his improvisations now sound very "safe"... it doesnt really sound adventurous and "show off" type like he did in the 70's..his solos now are more dull and safe...imo

  • @pinkrudy perhaps you could try seeing him as a person rather than as a guitarist who has no life outside of playing on stage and recording albums. He, like many others has had his ups and downs in life and that would influence his musical behaviour as much as it might anything else.

  • @Darryld1 thats something for his wife and family to worry about....we the fans are mostly concerned on the music side of things...and thats all im analyzing in these posts...

  • @pinkrudy so you think David Gilmours musical abilities are NOT driven by anything else that may happen in his life? You just admitted your own ignorance. Show me a musician who doesn't use events which affect their life to create music from. Eg. Shine On...you probably have no idea why that was written and you're defending that position? Pah!!

  • @Darryld1 whatever the reason was...after the 1977 tour he stopped improvising and got Fat...i dont know why...only he knows why and its foolish to make speculations on why...

  • wow . i was there...........................

  • i thought that he was playing a theremin in the picture

  • @NolikargAven yea its a regular lap steel guitar...he used it on SOYCD part6..

  • If I had a time machine, the first thing I would do is see Pink Floyd live....

  • splendida

  • @pinkrudy ;- D such a nice thought...I'm sure he is. Thanks for your nice comment. Aalways nice to share with other Floydians...

I am seeking a recording of this concert and footage/pictures. I heard that there is such a recording.

  • @1LaOriental i have been out of the floyd scene for a couple years.... the only 75 footage is from oakland and it from a 8mm cam with no sound pretty bad.. also there is some pro footage of the knebworth gig but only 30sec worth i think..its on youtube.. pictures? hmmm not sure...audio you can find quite easliy :P

  • @1LaOriental I was also at this show. I was just 3 weeks shy of my 18th birthday. I found a bootleg of this concert titled "Boredom and Pain". I'll send the link in a message but I've never done business with this site so...

  • Thanks for uploading. I was at this concert with my dear friend Rob...we were both

18 years old. Unfortunately, he died young of a drug overdose and I miss him terribly. We had such a great time.

He was one of the only people in my life that could appreciate great music such as Pink Floyd. Shine On my eccentric musical friend, RIP

  • @1LaOriental you and your friend were very lucky to see this show.. im sure your friend is chillin with rick wright or syd as we speak :)

  • best recording of the year IMHO

  • @VVetDreamer gilmour was on this night definitely.
