  • Yeah i bet it more relaxing! especially in a wet year, not so worried about easily getting stuck sure would be less stressful.

  • ic sweet!!! you always pull with the triples? hows the tractor on fuel? im looking at a bigger tractor about same except ford newholland, so wondering if my fuel use be much higher. now i pull 30foot same drill with 280 hp and no triples.

    thanks

  • @jwsrules123 This was the first year we ran it. Yes, we will always run with the triples -- even with 12 tires on the ground it was showing 4% slippage quite often in hard ground, only pulling 28 feet. We used to pull the drill with our 8630 (275 hp), but this 400 horse beast sure is a lot nicer - an easy load and much nicer cab. I was able to put in 20 hour days with about the same fatigue as a 14 hour day in the 8630! Quiet and comfortable makes a difference.

  • you ever get that rig stuck?

  • @jwsrules123 Not yet. I had it dragging the drawbar through the mud and all the wheels packed full of mud one day, but I managed to get out... just kept moving a little bit so I kept on it.

  • that's crazy, it's almost July and folks are still in the field
