The way I see it, the real christian thing to do would be to challenge the religious leaders who are in power and remind them that they are not God, and that their attitude should be to wash the feet of sinners. And they should never judge, because that's what Jesus taught. Let the word and the spirit convict people, not the religious leaders. Our job is to bring people to a relationship with Christ, not to condemn them and especially not to use religion as a political tool.
