Luke and The Rake are good friends. I imagine they had a great laugh about this afterwards. Wish I had a buck for every Luke and Rake solo I've fucked up on stage. I'd have about 150 bucks by now.
@totalcontrast Hey man, do you have any tips for playing solos of those two? That's got to be some of the hardest stuff to play. I didn't see Luke screwed up much from all those hundreds lives videos I'v seen on Tube.
@checkie4ever - Tips....well, just practice I guess and listen hard. The tab will only show you how to play the notes. You have to get into the vibe of what they are trying to achive. Both are awesome session players too so they have to adapt ther styles from gig to gig. The 70's really gave us the cream of the session guys. Go and absorb as much as you can. Steely Dan is probably the best place to start. Most of the recordings from the 70's and early 80's have that 'west coast' guitar feel.
@checkie4ever Reply 2 - As for Luke screwing up. Check out the Boz Scaggs Middle Man album. The "Breakdown Dead Ahead" solo that Luke did. On the final run up he stuffs a note but they must have laughed it off and kept it on the cut anyway. It's such an awesome solo! I kept it in too on the cover we did of it in my old band. I smiled everytime I played that bummer. Just a tip of the hat to Luke really. :-)
Although I know Jay is a friend of Luke, I must admit I smiled when he fucked up the solo. That´s what you get for trying to "steal" solos from Luke, you will have problems playing them. Hahaha!
wow what a performance by joe, it was good to see him sing on his own, he could've reunited with toto because at this time toto was changing lead vocalist one after another, contrary to what steve said joes voice was A okay since he left toto...
wow what a performance by joe, it just shows that even after he lost his voice and being out from toto when he got well, he was performing with other musicians, too bad he could've reunited with toto because he still got the voice contrary to what steve said that joe's voice never returned hey this is 1994 toto was changing lead vocalist one after another...they should have given joe another shot
never got to see the models in the original video in another video or anywhere else, how anyone, iif let me know

J'ai cru reconnaitre Bill Champlin à l'orgue Hammond, ainsi que Steve Porcaro parmi les claviers......que du lourd !!!!!!!

idiot camera man focused on the wrong keyboardist at the solo.

always amazed by the lack of preparation by the video trying to pan to catch each solo.

Amazing vocal attack here! And what of Pat Mastelotto, who went from here to King Crimson to The Flower Kings, etc. That's versatility!
