I think you are completely wrong in your interpretation, but then again, so might I be. I think their music in general expresses their ability to have fun. I don't feel that you can make music as haphazard, and yet oddly coherent, as theirs and not have a sense of humor. Also, if you go to their FB page and check out the "win the bass rig" link, the photo associated with that shows abundant humor in my opinion.
