Another fine choice of band for compilation!...Strange how this got over 46K views & The Police 509??...Is there a subliminal message in a bottle here? ;)
I love to hear all the time when younger generations admit todays music doesnt do it for them , see my other tributes and get their music too, enjoy, ill have more tributes in the future. yes, we were blessed with the great stuff in the past.
M.A.W. "Business As Usual" Album was well used by me (as a Young Man).......the expression "FECKING FANTASTIC" Doesn't say the half of it.....I now have young Kids and I'm Looking Forward to the DAY they find this CD...... and ask the question WHY DON'T THEY MAKE MUSIC LIKE THIS ANY MORE........."I WISH I GREW UP IN THE 80's DADDY......"
Yes ..the song i put in at 3:21 is "in my room" and the song at the credits is the guitar solo in "overkill" that song ...(vocal line) is earlier in the vid as well...thanks for asking
Upstairs in My House @ 3:21 right? Love this band.
Saw Colin Hay live recently -- really amazing and really underrated. Saw the Police 7 times during the reunion tour (HUGE fan...) and yet, the Colin Hay concert was what really blew me away.
I went to see Men At Work at my first ever rock concert when I was 12, and I have loved their music ever since. Thank you for posting.
(one of the reasons why I love YouTube is I can watch the videos I never got to see....no MTV where I lived as a kid...on YouTube...I LOVE Dr. Heckyll and Mr. Jive).
Thank you for posting!
Is it true that Ron Strykert married Cheryl Tiegs back in the 90's? (sorry, I love gossip almost as much as I loved Men at Work).
the 1980's and Men at Work will always be one in the same! Hearing this music (great video, btw) .. always takes me back to a time when i was 21 and this music was the shit! I'm not lementing it's passing .. im just glad to have been a part of it! Good times, man .. good times! lol
They were very underrated. They were all excellent musicians, and Colin Hay was an influence in my own vocals and songwriting. "I can see it in your eyes" is probably my favorite. "touching the untouchables' is also a great song...
All the songs on "Business As Usual" were masterpieces all on their own. Forget the commercial ones, I loved "Down By the Sea" the best. I also liked "Touching the Untouchables".
Alas, MTV audiences didn't get that part of Men At Work, and they faded after "Cargo", which was also a fine album.
Has anyone else seen the clips from "Scrubs" where Colin Hay sings "Overkill". TOO DAD-GUM FUNNY!
wow, i am not ashamed to say I LOVE THIS GROUP! i remember begging my parents to buy me their album when it 1st came out. they were a big influence on my development in singing.
We used to play soccer in front of my house listening to their records...ON CASSETTE !!! Still love their music "..I like it here with my childhood friend; Here they come, those feelings again!.."
interesting video... will have a look at the other one... thanks.
