While the CIA has been responsible for fucked up shit in Latin America, I'm having trouble believing this. First, I don't see how the CIA could have benefited from this type of an operation given the manner which it unfolded.Second, the CIA director at the time was Stansfield Turner, the guy who would reveal the details about MK ULTRA during a Congressional investigation. Also, during his tenure, he downsized CIA employment significantly, and this would require a lot of people to pull off.

@cincin3 I think it's a conspiracy theory and easy to pull off, because of the MK-ULTRA files were destroyed and it's anyones guess what was in them. Jim Jones was a cult leader who gathered people around him. So in the long run this all boils down to the end of the road where some 900 died. The people talking in this video are using hearsay and their own observation of photos. Watch a documentary of the people there who survived. Jim Jones had armed guards who hunted them down.
