  • lovely video!

  • these lyrics are soo weird >.< but such a lovely song!

  • Brilliant watched this video over and over again

  • this song is addicting.

  • The dancing is really cute.

  • The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,

Moves on; nor all your Piety nor Wit

Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,

Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.

  • Fred Astaire.....Ginger Rogers.....Fleet Foxes....Amazing songxx....Best Dancers the World has ever seenxx.....I'm in Heaven!!!!!

  • Its about the lead singers friend who joined a gang and got shot

  • The melody does contradict the words of this song.

But what exactly does it mean?

  • I just love this song.

  • i think sara being a friend would be wonderful

  • @OldWB1 Not that interested really but must disagree, as one who spent 15 years under "religious education". The n is indeed silent in the singular noun, the n is engaged to allow vocal continuity in the plural Hymnal, a collection of singulars.

Interesting takes on this song, one of their pals may have been killed over drugs, but this is White Fang and Citizen Kane in collision.

  • Fleet foxes, ive heard two of your songs tonight, and youve just made yourself a new fan, totally flipping amazing.

  • read recently that this was about gangs and the killing of one of their friends,if you listen to it you can get it...colours etc.....on a different matter I have always loved the quote that Ginger Rogers did everything that Fred Astaire did only going backwards in 4 inch heels, you cant argue with that

  • This made my eyes water.

  • Hey, thanks for the fred astair clips, that was fun. totally gave me something to dream about today.

  • I always thought this song's lyrics conflicted with the music...the music is dream like and joyous... The lyrics are pretty dark... The images you've choosen seem to match that conflicting mood perfectly.

  • @kerrilea73 lol u wanna hear a song in which the lyrics coflict with the music! like u just described; watch the video/song all you need is hate, i bet ull like the song, not the lyrics

  • This is without a doubt the most creative, ingenious and clever mix of two beautiful worlds that seems light years away from each other and yet have so much energy, spontaneity and playfulness in common. Who would have ever thought to put Roger and Astaire and Fleet Foxes together...but it totally works!

  • Check out Kiersten Holine's new cover of this with Jeff and Jay T

  • I love this song! And my mum, and my grandma...

    Where are they from?

  • ii loveeee loveee loveeeee thisss song. i loveee fleet foxes.

  • Radio 1 played this the other day..n wow aint it hauting!!......

  • mi fa sentire cosi' leggera questa canzone....

  • What do the lyrics to this song mean? Is everyone's head chopped off? Is that why the scarves are red? Is that why the snow turns red?

  • They say in interviews that these lyrics don't really have too much meaning. They're just words that sound good with the melody/harmonies.

  • Old black and white videos of white people freak me out for some reason.

  • WOW! :)

  • Delightful editing of Fred & Ginger to a truly beautiful song. Excellent - thank you!

  • Fred and Ginger huh? well thats cool! Im going to go read up on the lives of....... thanks vintagerose22

  • great video man! i love the classic couple dancing ,it adds an extra flare of sadness to a sad & beautiful song. this band hit me right in the mind, first time i heard them. well done bro!

  • thats not just any classic couple, thats Fred and Ginger.

    :)

  • Isn't that " Swing time "? Pretty sure it is. That movie is amazing, just like this song.

  • Yes it's Swingtime and Fred insisted on 47 takes to get it right by which time Ginger's feet were bleeding - but don't they make it look easy?

  • Been listening to this song 24/7 for a while now. Love this video as well.

  • Most uplifting song I've heard for ages. Been listening to it all day and sent it to lots of people. I like the animated one and it was absolutely inspired to include Fred & Ginger in this one. Great stuff.

  • best song ever

  • amazing!

  • "The world has held great Heroes,

    As history books have showed;

But never a name to go down to fame

    Compared with that of Toad!"

I guess what i'm trying to say is.........HAPPY BLOODY BIRTHDAY CHUDDERS !!!!!!!!!!! YEAH !
