That's a fallacy, one good act can still get a comedian pretty far. They can still tour the country doing the same act every night like the greats of the eighties did. Every comedian builds on the act that made the successful.
Being a comedian used to be easier. There was no internet so you could keep repeating your material in different clubs, and never be accused of repeating!
I like it when he did one stand and HBo and he used the same joke, but he (norm) said the second time, " My dad's big head showed up again, not followed by his body, just his big head this time, isn't that strange? And he hauled me in with his teeth." lol
Is it my imagination or is there some sort of dirty heckler trying to scream stuff throughout this set? The slumped over in a coma in front of the three stooges bit cracks me up.
yeah, i thought i heard someone, possibly the same guy, trying to interject a few times, but maybe i did imagine it as i was probably doped on on legal medication upon the first time hearing it. my sound card is busted now, so i can't even re-listen. The Bob Marley crack was pretty dumb though. I guess. I don't know. It may have even been me. I used to go there all the time. No I didn't. Oh, who really cares what I did? i'm such an idiot.
I laughed my ass off at the lottery ticket thing.

I love seeing how the cigarette-smoking joke evolved and became so hilarious -- from a one-liner to a great story with many many jokes in it.

Gunit420123 3 years ago
because he didnt do stand up for his whole life so some things comedians always repeat
Schutzstaffel23 3 years ago
every comic spends a year or so working on 45-80 min of great material that they can then put on an album or tv special.
so yeah, even the best repeat stuff a lot in front of different audiences

Of all comedians, I think Norm repeats material the least of anyone too.
