hi, I'm looking for a different cover of this song. the singer is a male with deep slow voice....and its not bee gees / barry gibbs version. please help me. been looking for over a yr
so essentially i've concluded there's a conway song relevant to every possible situation in my life. at god's right hand is Jesus. at god's left hand is Conway. and he's wasted and crackin up at all of us.
I will never forget. Conway came to town for a show during my high school senior prom. A lot of the my friends left the prom early to go catch the show. I made the mistake of saying..."I will see him next time." He died a week or two later. I have never forgiven myself for not going. RIP Conway, you are the man!
good country always has a story., thats whats countrys all about. many a bottle ive drunk and many a tear was shed while listening to conways stories told in the form of music, as us that know and love "country music"
I can remember where I was when he died but even tho I was young I still love him he will ALWAYS be one of my favorite artist! love this song wishin I had a shoulder right now!
@dnkks2008 I remember that day all too well. My mother (who has always been such a huge Conway fan) and I were coming home from the grocery store, driving down our street listening to Hello Darlin' on the radio. Once the song was finished, the DJ said "That was In Memory of Conway Twitty"... my mother and I both looked at each other and she said "They don't say In Memory of unless someone has died". That was when the DJ then went on to explain what had happened.
The next day I went with other family members to Nashville for Fan Fair (what it was called back then). We also went to Twitty City so that we could get pictures for my mother.
Conway is missed deeply. Country died a bit with him when he did leave us.. though his solid golden voice is gone.. we can still hear him! thanks for the post.
Thanks For this Beautiful Share *F* Wonderful Classic Track And Only Conway Could Sing This...God Bless To Country Music Always..Thanks Again * F* .Love Always...Ann xxx
just to inform everybody that most of the people in Cordillera Administrative Region, Philppines love country songs and i'm proud to say i'm one of them...
me and my grandma always loved conway...shes gone now and i miss her so much but every time I listen to conway I can almost feel her with me...RIP conway...and thank you so much for the wonderful music you left us with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When asked how he did it, Conway would quickly explain that he records songs with the message directed to women. He said they "get the message quicker than men do."
@chuckstruck502 i like straight but there is no doubt in my mind if conway was still here straight would not have had that title and wouldnt have had the chance to beat conways records
Conway was one of the greatest but he was at the end of his hit making. Country had changed for the worse when he passed. The no talent garth brooks changed it. George Jones, Hank Jr., T. Graham Brown etc. haven't had hardly any hits since Conway passed, and that is just plain hard to believe. Conway is what country used to be.....great. Today's country sucks the big one. If you're not good looking or a tramp....you don't have a chance in country now. It's nothing about talent anymore.

I was pregant with my second daughter when Conway died. I still remember hearing about it on the radio. Country music lost an amazing artist there will never be another Conway.

I love Conway, I will do my best to make sure he is never forgotten! Will you?
He died 3 years before i was born but i was raised on his music and man do i wish he was still alive cause i would surely go to his concerts his music is beautiful and i love it:) RIP Conway one of the greatest country singers in the world!!
they just dont make music like this anymore with love and from the heart.its all screaming and unintelligble lyrics from freaks, especially that garbage rap music
@66rlk - Yes, thanks for the info, RLK. I really didn't know Barry wrote this song - in my first comment I was being an ass (ROFL) - but you are correct, GOOD SONG (even if Merle didn't write it, ROFL) and ole Conway is missed!
Merle Haggard actually wrote and sang this song for Conway, as a Christmas Present - Conway thanked him, released the song under his name and made a million dollars - he did buy Merle a bottle of good scotch later on - ROFL!!!
he is the king of cool and country music how many other singers of any genres can take pop songs and can turn em into county classics none that i know off
IT IS SAD TO THINK OF THE MAY CW LEGENDS WHO ARE NO LONGER WITH US, I MISS THE REAL MUSIC BUT IAM GLAD WE HAVE RECORDINGS OF THE GREATS SO WE DO NOT HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE STUFF THEY PLAY THESE DAYS. THERE ARE A FEW WHO ARE GOOD BUT NOT GREAT. IT IS LIKE LIFE THE YOUNG GENERATION WILL NEVER REALIZE WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT, NOT COMPUTERS (GOOD FOR THIS), CELL PHONES, IMPERSONAL CONVERSATION AND ETC, THEY THINK THAT IS LIFE IAM GLAD I KNOW IT IS NOT.
I truly miss Conway, but ya know who sounds so much like him? Jeff Bates, and Black Shelton sings Good Bye Times that sounds pretty good, has such singing styles pitch and tones as Conway. But Rest In Peace Mr. Conway Twitty, we really miss ya man.
I actually am not a big country fan like that but now I'm trying to give it a try and I must say I love this song. I like his version of this song the best. RIP Mr. Conway Twitty
I have always enjoyed Conway and the love of my life loved him so much..Does anyone know what happend to the Goodbye video that was on from George Jones and Lorretta that has been removed....Loved it alot...
Maybe you don't know me, anymore then I know you, And I wouldn't blame you if you walked away, I've been watching you all evening, with those teardrops in your eyes, And it touches me much more then I can say, You know I hate there's someone could've hurt someone like you, And if I was him, I'd be right by your side (Chorus) Lay your troubles on my shoulder, put your worries in my pocket, rest your love on me a while (Repeat once) (Can someone finish this song for me?)
@joshuabrooks21 Saw you in the corner, from the moment I walked in, Saw your lonely face across the room, No I won't forget you, and the way it could've been, Why'd you have to leave so soon? You know I hate to think there's someone, you loved instead of me, Cause at times like this, I'd be right by your side, Lay your troubles on my shoulder, Put your worries in my pocket, Rest your love on me a while (Repeat) (Solo) (Repeat Chorus twice) (Solo outro)
Great vocals by Conway, it just makes you think how good the Bee Gees were at songwriting too, whilst they were having huge success with disco, they wrote this country song.
I don't listen to country music but this is one timeless awesome song. Great lyrics and singing - a true master at work here!!! The guitar solos is very tasteful -
mark,ty one of my faves but dam all conways songs were my fave,, same as genes... ty for alwayss thinking of me and sending me these awesome songs/videos/ happy new year darlin
The Brothers Gibb influence is immense - from disco to country and sung by so many artists - they really do challenge Lennon and Mc Cartney as the biggest pop influence of the last 50 years.
Sorry guys - did not mean to bring that up!!
And as a PS - I like Conway, but there is no emotion in this version.
I couldn't agree more, Conway is STILL one of my VERY fav male Country singers, he was GREAT, timeless... and what a damn shame he left us so soon... and I agree, I often wonder how much more great music would have been put out by ppl such as: Conway, Patsy Cline, Waylon, Keith Whitley, Vern Gosdin, and so many others that have come and gone from the world of music... it is sad.
Conway had a "one of a kind" voice too and what an entertainer he was, and so good looking...
Right? Man it would of been great. But good thing for the videos and recordings he left behind. Its sad to see all the ol country artists going down hill.. George...loretta.. etc. its truley sad. but as conway once said... "change is constant"
@lindalovesal oh so true and i dont think anyone would have beat his record i still cry when i think about him being gone ,love ya conway thanks for the mark you left on this world
Well Conway could put me in his pocket so I could be close to him ! Thank you Mark for sharing this. I like this song. I hadn't heard it before and Conway does it so well. When my niece was 16 years old she didn't like country music but when she met Conway at a show in Cincinnati she became a life long fan. Thank you for posting this. - Paula
A beautiful one by the great Conway Twitty. Thank you, Mark for sending. And thanks for posting, CountryMusicFan9. I just put this on my Country Favorites playlist. 5 stars!
hi i am a die hard conway twitty fan who is looking for true conway twitty fans to subscribe and become friends with to let the world know what great talent he was so if you wish to show some love to the late conway twitty just let me know rest in peace our dear conway twitty love always your fan
I met him a couple of times he is a fine fine gentleman, southern hospitality to beat the band. that is why he means the world to me and with the bad season he is having i wanted to dedicate this song to him let him know someone cares.
Y-E-S !!! it was obvious somebody was gonna post conway's version of this masterpiece! i'll never be thankful enough for this, dear CMF, thank you so much!!! bee gees , olivia NJ and andy gibbs are great, but conway is unreachable!!!
Thanks to his children and grand children & Mickey we can still get these video to hear and treasure. He certainly was the King of country music. No one will ever come close to or near Conway Twitty.I had the pleasure of meeting him several times. He was a faithful man to his wife,so far as i cert-ion the only one he ever loved was Mickey.I hear him say that.We always love you CONWAY.

Hello Darlin and I Believe showed his emotion.
indah007 2 years ago
Well, perhaps the emotion isn't there, so that he could appear to the woman in the song to be strong. :) Just a thought. :)

It is hard to believe hes been gone from us 16 years. Can you imagine the songs he would put out if he was still with us RIP CONWAY Tks Mark
lindalovesal 2 years ago 47
I couldn't agree more, Conway is STILL one of my VERY fav male Country singers, he was GREAT, timeless... and what a damn shame he left us so soon... and I agree, I often wonder how much more great music would have been put out by ppl such as: Conway, Patsy Cline, Waylon, Keith Whitley, Vern Gosdin, and so many others that have come and gone from the world of music... it is sad.
Conway had a "one of a kind" voice too and what an entertainer he was, and so good looking...
thanks again Mark.

@DERedhead65 his rock isn't that bad either

@mrkoolnerd I agree... Conway had the voice...
DERedhead65 1 year ago
Right? Man it would of been great. But good thing for the videos and recordings he left behind. Its sad to see all the ol country artists going down hill.. George...loretta.. etc. its truley sad. but as conway once said... "change is constant"

- Paula

I met him a couple of times he is a fine fine gentleman, southern hospitality to beat the band. that is why he means the world to me and with the bad season he is having i wanted to dedicate this song to him let him know someone cares.
