  • I did this exploit with the Holiday 2004 Demo Disc. Cheers!

  • Ok had to fill you guys in on my experience burning games,I have had my a SCPH-3900 for quite a few years and still is in great working condition but when I burned the ISO files using Alcohol 120% at x4 would make the games bog on loading and video scenes chopping and out of sink.On the other hand, using DVD decrypter at X 6 burn would fix the issues with little to none problems. With that I will add I have a SCPH 5001 that played the Alcohol 120% at x4 discs more stable with little issues.

  • ok so i did this but it wont boot up some of the games

  • @marloneduardo1000 The are a couple of possible causes, Not patching with ESR Patcher, bad game copies, bad MC Boot installation.

  • @TutorialPerfection maybe it is the copy of the games...but some boot up but thn i can only get the audio...does the burning speed matter

  • @marloneduardo1000 I burn at 4x it also depends on your PS2 version, some only read DVD-R and some only read DVD+R

  • do you have to take the ps2 apart?

  • @suwaneekid3 Yes, or else how are you going to disc swap with the case on?

  • Ok this might sound weird but I moved the INSTALL folder from the Noobie Package to the Main Root on my usb drive and deleted the noob folder(might not made a difference) and installed with no problem. Might help with some usb thumb drives that are not detected in your PS2. Thanks TutorialPerfection I will drink one for yea!

  • @thaddeusmcgrath Just did this and it totally solved my problem. You're the man.

  • I installed it anyway without the files and the Free McBoot Version 1.8 is on the screen. Just has Browser, System Configm Launch disc and Reload configuration without ulaunchELF HDleader and Simple Media System. This sucks

  • When I select multi version install it says No USBD,IRX,USBHDFSD,IRX found in INSTALL/MODULES folder FMCB loader will not have access to USB device....continue, What am I doing wrong please help dude.

  • can u play international games with this? Like Japanesse for example? :P

  • @EricSmukavich121 Yes, but remember to patch with an ESR Patch program. Do a google search

  • thanks for the quick reply

  • it turned out that my usb stick wasn't reading so i used my 75gig external hard drive worked perfectly

  • so after this is all done, can you put the ps2 back together just open and close the disk slot with just the button and play burn games? also can you play other region games?

  • @yoshi8u2 Yup :)

  • i got every thing good but when i click mass it freezes and nothing any thoughts?

  • @killshots2 Perhaps try redownloading the files.

  • Im using verbitum, ive heard thats the best for PS2 and I've tried everything a couple times so I dont know where I'm messing up which is making it frustrating. the Mcboot wont load up from the game when you do the disc swap and select the mission.

  • Will doing this soft mod allow you to play international games as well? Like i have a japanese final fantasy game thats not burned. Will it be able to play this after the soft mod??

  • @umer810 is prpbably the disc brand. i was in a hurry to buy dvd-r and a friend told me that the 99 cent store sells 2 phillips dvd-r for a dolar and that worked for me

  • Also I was wondering if I got a usb-memory card converter could I download the mod directly to the memory card and use it that way. Thus installing the files directly on the memory card. If I do this where and what files would I install on the memory card? THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP! Awesome video btw

  • Well, I've done everything in the video three times now, My model is SCPH-39001 Im not sure if it works with this model but I tried all the steps using DVD-R's and 8 USB's formatted with FAT & FAT32. When I put in my james bond cd and do the disc swap everything good.I can hear the menu music and everything with my burned disc. I press X twice to go into the mission and select it again than the screen goes black and the music stops playing. The white screen doesn't come. Any suggestions?

  • @splooshrabbit - i had the same problem til i realized that he said to use dvd-r and i was using dvd+r. and i gave it a try and it worked and this just happened today. you should see if youre using dvd+r.....................one thing im worrying about is that i downloaded mgs 3 but its in pal and i already patched it but i want to know if i can run it with esr.

  • I followed everything right and all I get is a black screen. Any suggestions?

  • or is my usb plug in from my ps2 not working?

  • i have everything done. i have my 007 original and burnt with the patch. and 2 usb's with the files...... when i swap the disk. the 007 theme song audio goes off and when i play the game the screen goes blank and thats the furthest it will go. please help!...... my ps2 console is sch-30001 . does this ps2 version work?

  • Do you usually use DVD-Rs to burn the games? What program do you use to burn the games? And what about downloading games that are over 4.5 gigs (the dual layer ones) do you have to buy a dual layer DVD-R to burn them?

  • @fernandoiscrazy Most Ps2s read DVD-R more than anything and I use ImgBurn it's free. You can't get DVD-R DL you can only get DVD-DL

  • @fernandoiscrazy no ps2 game will be over 4.5 gb, i think biggest is like 4.2gb or something like that.

  • do i have to keep the top part of the ps2 off?

  • @madman5125 After the softmod is completed you can re-assemble your PS2, it's not like swapmagic, as said in the video title. Hope this helps

  • @TutorialPerfection sorry last question so any burnt game works

  • @TutorialPerfection ok my question is now that i have the ps2 all good and ready to go, how do i get games to play in it? sorry if this is a noob question but do i like download them from torrents or what? id appreciate a detailed answer, thanks. GREAT TUTORIAL BTW

  • @untouchable2 A site called isozone.com just do a google search :D hope this helps

  • @TutorialPerfection thanks bra, i will check it out, and i tried it out with a copy of god of war that i found and it worked great!

how did you discover how to do this anyway? seems pretty technical stuff

  • @untouchable2 Google and a lot of spare time.

  • What is the music you use at the start and end of your videos?

  • @Ritchstorm The start is Raver by Showtek and the end is Wilderness the hardest boys remix. Did the video help btw?

  • @TutorialPerfection Thanks, yeah it did. I just have a few questions. Firstly, when you do the mod to your ps2 at the start of video 1, could I just not do the mod and disk swap using a slide tool like you use for custom guitar hero 2 songs? Secondly, what is the ps2 memory card for? Is it just for the 007 save or does the boot thing save something onto the memory card? AND in the description you say you need 2 memory cards but I don't understand why! Thanks.

  • @Ritchstorm Thanks for asking firstly no you can't. Free MCBoot is saved onto the memory card and you must also save your game progress on "Mem Card 1" (The one we install FreeMCBoot on) The two memory cards are only if you want to back up your game saves before the softmodding process because you have to format and erase the first memory card in order to install the softmod.

Hope this helped :) Be sure to subscribe.

  • @TutorialPerfection OK, so why do I have to take loads of parts from my ps2 then? It looks like what you do would be the same as the swap tool trick.
