I heard the original lots of times and never once thought "oh that sounds like Rammstein" (and they're one of my favourites) but then read that Rammstein recorded the original in multiple places on the web.

After looking it up I discovered this was not true (it was written by Nobuo Uematsu and others, vocals by Bill Muir as has already been said)

Where did the rumour start? How has it persisted for so long if it's a simple matter to look up the credits for the game / Soundtrack?

Uematsu composed the original and the Black Mages' guitarist arranged as well. Rammstein had no input in the creation/performance of the song

No offence to Ramstein but I prefer this version better... Call me a weirdo, but I kinda wished FFX used this song, it'd suit it more instead of some heavy metal song. Atleast this would match with Su ta ka neh or whatever! LMAO i can never remember it's name... :P

Regardless: This song is much better.

I think that's because the original of this was already 'metal' themed.

So without a style to change, they just changed the sound . . . meh, I think this is the first BM song remix that I don't really like.
